Just the right size for me, I usually fold it in half and wear it on the back of my neck at work and it keeps me very cool. It's of a fine light weight quality that dries fast when you're done and machine washable. I soak it for a couple of minutes beneath a cold faucet, shake it several times and its ready. I bought this to keep me cool as a crossing guard and it seemed to work well. Kept me cool, although I want it in the sun long. These scarves really do keep you cool so that you can work--or play, or run, or whatever--longer without tiring in warm weather. Please note, they are NOT a substitute for proper hydration! I purchased a shorter one, which is fine if you're wearing it while standing around at a pool party, but less convenient for gardening because it needs a clip to stay put during all that bending and shifting position. They dry out quickly in extreme heat so you want to make sure you have access to water to wet them frequently if you are going to be in the hot sun for hours. It’s thin fabric that cools from the water on it. I think any scarf or piece of fabric that was wet would pretty much do the same thing. I tried this indoors to just get a sense of it beforeI use it outside tomorrow. My house is 75, and it’s not doing much in less than an hour, imagine it will be much less outside in 90 sun. I expected more of a cooling effect like the fabric used with cooling blankets but it doesn’t feel that way. Would never buy again, not much help to me and not a good value IMO. Read more
