Light, compact, yet solidly designed unit. Works perfectly with my mp3 and flac collection, and its library can be edited through PC link without having to fiddle with a card reader. It has a minimalist OS, but manages to include every setting an enthusiast would ever want. Easy to configure and navigate. Zero noise through both 3.5 and 4.4, and outputs enough power to run my fullsize planars comfortably. Enough battery capacity for a couple days' listening sessions, around 9 hours total with the IEMs I've been using. Sound output is very pure with equalizer left flat, and doesn't seem to introduce any distortion even on wild EQ profiles. All in all, it's an awesome player. Punches way above its weight class, and comparative to much more expensive units. Read more

Nice little player. Fairly easy to use and sounds good and has a decent battery life if you’re not driving super high impedance headphones. But it is capable of driving a wide variety of speakers. Minor criticisms are the touch screen response can be a bit finicky as compared to modern phones or older “i” player devices, and there really aren’t any detailed instructions. Neither were a deal breaker though. It’s pretty easy to figure out by scrolling through the menus. Read more

I had originally purchased a Fiio JM21, but the music kept randomly stopping. I settled on M1Plus and have been very pleased with its performance. I like the smaller form factor as I typically use this on the plane when I'm traveling. I don't need to be lugging around an iPhone sized music player. I ordered the leather case for it and that gives me a bit of a surer grip on it. I also like the fact that it's just a music player. I don't need to play games or search the web on my music player. I just want high quality sound and that's what the M1Plus provides. If you're looking for a screen protector for it, I suggest the Mr.Shield [3-Pack] Screen Protector For Sony RX100 VII Digital Camera DSC-RX100M7 [Tempered Glass] [Japan Glass with 9H Hardness] Screen. It's made for the Sony camera, but it fits perfectly, stopping just short of the logo at the bottom of the screen, i.e., covers all of the functional screen. Read more

Pros: Intuitive interface. I can navigate and find my music easily. Perfect size and feel. This is what an ideal "handheld" should feel like: literally, buttons fall right in place of fingers when held. Cons: the Bluetooth connections are not reliable. It takes me minutes at times to establish a connection, even after successfully pairing it to a device or my car. I don't have time 5 minutes trying to troubleshoot every time I get in my car. I've never had such trouble making wireless connections with other devices such as this and I've just resorted to using my phone (yes, I've turned its bluetooth off so my car can recognize this device first), which defeats the purpose. I have no complaint about hardware or ui my issue is sounding. Very aggressive and shouty sounding very bright sound doesn't matter what iem i use even bassy or warm sounding iem or balanced connection or 3.5 mm . I have iem collection probably more than fifty iems and I couldn't find any iem matches. I previously owned ibasso dx170 and even hiby r3 2 sound more musical than m1plus. Ok beautiful looking dap and smooth ui but I really didn't like sounding . If your priorities sound than I can't recommend. Read more

I've tried so many players and they all had problems. This player didn't have any problems and has the best sound quality I've heard. It's better than Sony and all the other high priced brands like Fiio, HiBy, and Surfans. Don't waste your time with other players, this is the one. Read more

The SHANLING M1 Plus has been great so far. The touch screen is surprisingly responsive, and the system is very easy to navigate. The size is just right — compact enough to carry around, but not too small to use comfortably. The only downside is that it doesn’t connect to my AirPods Pro 2, which is a bit disappointing. Other than that, it’s a solid little player that works well and feels well-built. Read more

Just right for riding my bike playing flac shows from the microSD thru the 4.4mm jack to InEarMonitors. Volume wheel easy to adjust while in my pocket. Sounds good, plenty power, adjustments, easy load up files, etc. Read more
