This thing is fantastic! I have sharpened many pocket knives and one large fixed blade, I even used it to sharpen a windlass cobra stel wakazashi short sword! I have had other simular style knife sharpeners some double the price that arent as good as this one. Not only has this one done a better job of sharpening but it seems to be much more durable and lasting much longer. Im going to buy more of these and put one with each of my large survival type knives and machetes. I havent tested the fire steel but who cares, Im sure it will work and its just a bonus anyways, its the sharpener thats impressive ad makes this well worth the $9 I highly sugest getting one and seeing for your self, I bet after using it you buy a few more. This would make a great stocking stuffer for any knife lover. It even sharpened a knife I have that is cheap steel and refuses to take an edge from other simular sharpeners. We purchased a couple of these, sharing them with a few relatives who are intense hikers. We also purchased for ourselves and our survival kit. We live on the oceanfront and put in our Tsunami bug out kit. It has the all important sharpener aspect, but also a fire starter. A whistle, etc. Husband reports that the sharpener works very well on his pocket knife collection. Win/win. We probably all need one of these! Small, compact and easy to carry or put into a kit. It looks better than it feels. Kinda cheap quality but I’m keeping it for my toolbox because it will at least sharpen carpenter knife blades for reuse instead of tossing them when they begin to dull so in the long run it will save me enough money to pay for itself. I just wouldn’t use it on my better pocket knives. Read more
