I had an older model. This one seems to be a bit more powerful. The options for the use of attachments is better explained. The new finish is supposed to be softer to the hand but I really can't tell the difference; this unit is just gray where the original was charcoal. The instructions are a bit confusing and if I didn't know how to use the old version, which was pretty simple, I don't think I could figure these new instructions out. So far I'm going by the old rules. The cord that comes with the unit is very nice but very short. Near this unit there was an option for one that's 3-4 feet that I personally find more practical. It's just a USB to USBc cord. It took me a few tries to figure out how to get the charger cord into the unit and you have to be precise. The unit does a decent job of holding a charge but I always wish it was longer to help me with my muscle spasms so I had to buy this second unit to keep action going long enough to deal with tough spasms. I also find that if I hold my hand around the ball so the ball doesn't touch my skin, that I can get some real relief from facial tension in delicate areas.
