Simplicity and Effectiveness at its Finest
I purchased the Msentuo 4-way Adjustable Shoe Stretcher for my husband who has wide feet; but, as it turns out, ironically, I’m the one benefiting most from it. While my husband’s feet are wide, he, with effort, can ultimately find shoes that fit him and don’t cause his feet to ache. Dress shoes tend to give him the most trouble, which was the reason behind purchasing the Msentuo. I have a condition called lymphedema which causes my left lower extremity to swell excessively as it collects with fluid. Approximately two weeks after purchase, I woke one morning to find that I couldn’t get my left shoe on under any circumstance. My left leg and foot were so swollen that my skin was cotton white due to my skin being stretched beyond its means. My ankle and the top of my foot were extra-large because I had not used my compression pump the night before nor had I taken my fluid pills. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted the shoe stretcher, which I cannot fib, I had forgotten about, but once I saw it, it dawned on me to use it for my own shoes. While I went to work with a slipper that day, since then, I’ve purchased 3 pair of shoes in a size 9, which is my normal size, and after stretching the left show with the Msentuo, it’s been a breeze putting them on and wearing them all day without pain or cuts from the shoe digging into my swollen ankle, nor am I worried about my right shoe slipping off and me tripping. This tool has given new life to my shoe inventory and has been a game changer. I’m happy to report that I am no longer restricted to Mules, flip-flops, Crocs and clogs. I couldn’t believe I had gone as long as I had without this inexpensive, simple solution. Before the Msentuo, I had succumbed to the fact that I would forever have to purchase a pair of shoes one full size up to accommodate my left foot. Both inconvenient and awkward were the pads I’d have to place inside my right shoe to prevent it from flopping off. “Shoe stuffing” was a necessity, and unfortunately, I learned this fact the hard way. I was running late one morning and didn’t take the time to insert the pads into my shoe. As I was rushing to get to my car, my right shoe came flying off causing me to trip and fall. I scrapped my knees and one hand on the course cement. But, even worse, the moment was both embarrassing and demoralizing …Well, not anymore! 99.9% of the time I get my husband to handle all things mechanical. Despite my ability to read and follow directions, I usually find myself becoming impatient and complicating the process of maneuvering new gadgets. The great thing about the Msentuo is that it basically comes pre-assembled, is well constructed, and it has one knob to both lengthen and widen shoes. The unit comes with bunion plugs for correcting specific areas of the shoes. Also included are heightening pads to raise the shoes’ top material. This works great for me because, as I mentioned earlier, the top of my foot and ankle are where the majority of the fluid collects. I’ve now stretched 5 pair of shoes, and only one has called for a repeat treatment. This particular pair of shoes stretched a little less than the others. I attribute it to the type of material. My leather and canvas shoes all took to the process very well, but it was the patent leather that requires a second stretch. If you read and follow all six, yes, only six instructions you will be a pro on your first attempt at using this device. Remember the unit recommends keeping the stretch mechanism inside the shoes for at least 24 hours to effectively stretch a pair of shoes. The Msentuo corrects all of the major areas: width, height, length, and specialized spots for bunions, etc. The only way this unit could be improved upon is if cleaned and polished your shoes while stretching them!! REPEAT: Leave the Msentuo inside your shoes for AT LEAST 24 hours for adequate stretch of most materials, and 48 hours for patent leather. Simplicity and effectiveness at its finest.
