my mattress isn't too bad, but my aging joints are wanting something a little less firm. My 1 inch topper wasn't quite cutting it. I thought I'd try this instead of getting a new mattress, and I'd say it's just about right. Maybe Goldilocks approved. Not too firm, and not too soft. But it could all be relative. I mean, compared to plywood board it's pretty soft. But it seems to conform to my body, and then it springs back to its previous position. unpacking it was about as expected. it was shrink wrapped, and then I laid it out for a "few hours" to let it fluff up. The instructions were written by someone who does not speak English as a first language. But basically, you have to pat the little square foam pieces to make sure they are all lying flat -- some of them kind of bunch up from being folded up. Once it fluffed up, it was all good. I'm going to keep this one. I'm not going to buy a bunch of toppers to compare it to. This fits the bill as far as I'm concerned. Read more
