I was having issues when windy as the wind would open my recycle bin and paper would be spread all over the yard. But not anymore. This trap works great as keeping the lid closed. I don’t have issues with wildlife but I can tell it would keep the small critters away from the garbage. It is very easy to adjust and install. So far it has held well together for 3 seasons. The concept is great and it seems sturdy, but unfortunately it didn’t fit my garbage can at all. I should’ve paid closer attention to the sizing—this is really only made for smaller bins (14–17 gallons). If it had fit, I think it would’ve worked well since the dual clasps seem secure and it looks like it would help keep animals out. Just make sure to double-check your bin size before ordering! It's not very adjustable as far as I can tell. It works on my 20 gallon trash can. It's easy to take off which is fantastic. Once I got it figured out (it didn't take long) putting it on is fairly easy too. If I'd read the instructions, I probably wouldn't have had to figure it out. This band to keep the varmints out was a waste of time, money and very exasperating. First of all it was not as long as they said it was and the cheap plastic hook didn't stay hooked without a good sized lip (my can didn't have a lip). After several tries and picking it up off the ground often I decided that it should go INSIDE the bin instead so I threw it away. Read more

Nice product! It arrived fast, and well packaged. Easy to use as well. It functions well, and I used it for business to keep a lid shut tight for a oil container on my food trailer.
