When it comes to juicers, I am lost. I know nothing about them. I do know, however, that we need to incorporate more fruits and vegetables in our diet. When I came across the SiFENE Slow Masticating Juicer Machine I was on board. How hard could it be? When it shows up, we are ready for it. The farmers market had plenty of fresh produce and what they didn't have, we picked up at the store. The juicer was easy to put together. It is really quiet. Common sense told me that I would have to cut the fruit and vegetables in smaller pieces if I didn't want problems right out of the gate. Which I did not. This juicer meant business. I really liked how quiet the machine is. I can make fresh squeezed juice without waking the house if that's something I want to do. It's safe enough that the older kids can use it. Maybe they will make ME fresh squeezed juice some morning! I was surprised how much pulp came out of the fruit I was juicing. And the taste? No comparison! This juice was vitamin packed, had more nutrients. No additives, it didn't even need sugar it was so wonderful. One of the kids asked me what we have been drinking? What an awful thing to hear. We have been drinking crap is what we have been drinking. The whole reverse mode is going to be a welcome addition. There will be a time that someone is going to clog it and do the "Not me"- so that won't matter. It's almost like they know my family. We have this stored in the kitchenware pantry but could easily fit on the counter. It takes up so little space. I know this says that it is dishwasher safe, this is something I always look for when buying things. I don't know that I want to do that. It's just so easy to hand wash. It takes like 3 minutes to wash. The plastic cups are okay, but if you put them in the dishwasher, I would say top rack for sure. This is running $70. right now. It might seem like a lot of money. You won't think so after your first taste of what juice is supposed to taste like instead of the crap that is on the grocery shelves. The frozen stuff is a bit better, but nothing like fresh. I took the pics immediately upon opening it for the first time. What I saw in a supposedly new machine.........grossed me out. For me, that was just a nonstarter. I didn't even try to use the machine. I'm afraid, consuming anything out of it was just not something I could mentally stand to do, afterwards. It would always be in my head, what I saw ----- turning my stomach. Other concerns: if it was food material, how much bacteria is in the machine, and how much did it spread, and would I be able to kill it all, and not get sick ----- or die from it. It's anybody's guess what that is in my taken pic, of the juicer's tube (if Amazon decides to include the pic, you'll see it). Maybe, it's juice residue, from where they ran a fruit or veggie through it, at the factory, to test it. Maybe, it's a dye of some kind; again, from some kind of test they ran at the factory, but didn't effectively get it all out of the machine, before they boxed it up, and shipped it out. Maybe, they reboxed a returned machine, or part, without cleaning it, and inspecting it thoroughly, before letting it go out the door to another customer ------- who knows. Needless to say, I know; but, it didn't inspire alot of confidence in me for the company that manufactured this product; them allowing this macine to go out the door like that. It made me wonder: what other nastiness involved in their manufacturing process don't I know about. How contaminated and/or toxic is their manufacturing facilities, and products, as a whole? This juicer isn't bad. For being compact it does pack a bit of punch. As with almost any juicer you do need to cut up what you want to juice. I like how the scraps come out instead of clogging up the juicer. 3 speeds, reverse, soft, and hard, depending on what you got. Read more
