This is the perfect sideboard kitchen mat! It's made of silicone which means it stays put on the counter and doesn't slide around. It is thick and wicks water away thanks to its ripple pattern which is not only functional but attractive in appearance. I'm using it as a draining mat for my silverware organizer and the fit is perfect! The mat feels quite durable and I expect it to last a long time. It protects my countertop from excessive water and scratches. And since it's silicone it has a high heat resistance making it perfect for other uses such as a safe place to set a hot pot or tray from the oven; I'll be buying another soon just for that use. I had been using a cloth on my counter top for when I wash out my cat's dishes and need to drain them. My life mate also puts his rinsed out coffee cut on it to let it dry. This was actually the perfect size for my small counter. I like that it has a kind of drainage, is easy to clean up if crumbs or liquid (other than water) spills onto it. It laid out nice and flat. It seems to be heavy duty and thus durable. And I love the bright yellow color. And because it's not cloth (as I'd been using) and easily washed after each use, I feel better about not having a lot of germs. Read more
Yellow silicone mats. This time, they look fresh and pretty on the refrigerator shelves and prevent food containers from slipping. I tried putting one under my coffee maker and it works great. No more coffee stains on the counter! Other uses include as a kitchen cutting board. A helpful tip: To clean the silicone mats, simply put them in the washing machine with your clothes. Clarifying 'dark mat' comparison: was comparing this more clear mat to a darker one from different store that I bought previously... I haven't seen this mat is sold in dark by this company... Nice mat. I like the more clear color over dark as the darker colors show water stains. I do wish the mat was about even an inch wider & longer to catch more water. It just barely fits under my bamnoo dish drainer. I bought a 2nd one that sits under my humidifier. Would buy again. Read more
This drying mat is quite large, which is great for me, we are a large family and do lots of cooking. It is easy to clean, and I like the way it looks. Downside is, I really wanted something that will allow my dishes to dry and if you put lots of dishes on it, it pools water and they don't dry inside. Wine glasses will not dry completely. Also, the bottom is flat, which is nice aesthetically, but if you don't put a towel underneath it leaves a mark on the counter, unless you pick it up right after dishes are done. If you wash then dry the dishes, it would be great. I want to allow them to dry and not have to dry them with a towel, so not the right fit for me, I have used it for a while and cannot find a way that the dishes will dry without towel drying them. Depending on your needs, this could be a nice mat, but it is not working for me and I have ordered a different one that has a drain port and it slightly raised opposite the drain. Read more
