As someone whose ears produce too much wax and sometimes get annoyingly itchy, these cutips are great! I prefer the nubbly side. If you spin it between your fingers, it does a great job cleaning the outside of the ear and its tapered design and length have prevented me from ever going too deep. The wavy side works well if you’re scooping away excess wax. Both sides rinse clean easily under running water. I haven’t used the “makeup” swab so I can’t speak to that. I will say my husband didn’t care for these cutips because he found the silicone too firm, but he’s extra sensitive with his ears. I’d still highly recommend this product because it easily removes unsightly wax goobers instead of smearing them around and it doesn’t create more landfill fodder on a daily basis. Read more
Please note, I haven't used these on my ears yet- will update if the experience is not pleasant. I purchased these for my makeup kit. They are pliable and not to hard. Wash up easy, day and back in my bag. Highly effective without having to waste cotton swabs. Durable too, I anticipate these lasting quite awhile. awesome. i got these to use with my mario badescu drying lotion so i wouldn’t have to throw out a q tip after every use. these are a little bit shorter than q tips. i love the bamboo case they come with and the fact that this is eco friendly. Read more
Does not absorb or clean ears like a regular cotton swab. It’s slick and just slides around. I can’t imagine it would work very well for make up either, due to the texture, but I haven’t tried that. Read more
These are marketed as a sustainable alternative to cotton swabs. While they look cool and come in a nifty case, they are not what I would use to clean my ears. The bamboo stick is rather hard, which prevents the silicone fittings from being flexible, and it makes insertion in the ear rather uncomfortable. The various shapes are cool and versatile, though, and I can see using one for a cuticle pusher. These could be used for makeup application in a pinch. I would definitely not recommend using these on an infant or little kid, though. Another plus is that they are super easy to clean and store in their dandy little magnetic case. Read more

I got these swabs because I use them daily and am sick of buying new ones, and just polluting the planet with more waste, so it seemed like all wins. When I first tried it, I noticed that they are much more firm (which I found out the hard way) than cotton, which was almost a great thing for me I realized. My ears are quite itchy inside due to psoriasis. I also like that this set has numerous styles of tip, depending on what you are going for.
