I didn't always have sensitive hearing but when I was in my mid 20s I recognized that loud noises and high pitched sounds "hurt". Also background noises became distracting and without noticing that I was doing it; I would drown out the background noise with music. Well, as a health care provider I can't really stick headphones into my ears to drown out all the noises from medical equipment. I needed something that would block enough sound to help me concentrate but still hear important alarms. I also wanted something that would be good quality and not break the bank. I decided to try these ear plugs out. I purchased the purple color. At first, I tried them out at work. They definitely Block alot of background noise. You can hear conversations but they are muffled so I don't have them in when I need to talk to someone. I honestly very rarely use them at work and find that I use them more at home or when I am out and about for activities. Just to give an example of how good they work, I had to reinstall my fire detector but they are so loud!!! At first i wasn't using them and the sound was so piercing I had to climb down the ladder and take a breath. But then I remembered my purple ear plugs!! I grabbed them and put them in and it was like i was immune to the sound! I could still hear the sound it was extremely faded and muffled and I was able to install the fire detector. I also work at night so I do sleep during the day when people are staring their day. I've used them when my neighbors mow their lawns or their outside dog decides to bark for 4 hours straight. They are especially helpful on my off days when I sleep with my husband who uses a Cpap machine. For the most part it's quiet and doesn't bother me but if he turns a certain way and the mask gets repositioned it can produce a very loud whooshing sound like air blowing down a tunnel. So they really help with loud noises and annoying background sounds. I don't go to concerts so I couldn't comment on how well they would be for that. I wouldn't wear them without someone being with you if you have to wear them while walking in a busy area like downtown while crossing a street or a festival. We still need our hearing to in certain situations to protect ourselves! I give these 4 out of 5 because they do the job for the price. I took 1 star off because even though it boasts 16 pairs. It's really only like 3 or 4 because the ear bud sized are large, medium, small, extra small. It would be more bang for the buck if you could choose your size and get 16 pairs of the size you wear. I would purchase again and I highly recommend for the price and quality! I've had these for a couple of months already and they do not irritated my skin and they have not gotten stuck in my ear. I like the little pull tab it is easy to place and remove from the ear. I've had foam ear plugs get stuck in my ear and with these I don't have that anxiety. I highly recommend! Read more

I bought these as a trial to see if I like the style before getting the more expensive Loop brand, but these work so well, I don’t need to upgrade! Between apartment roommates cooking and talking late at night and birds chirping as early as 2:30am, I was struggling to fall asleep and stay asleep. Foam earplugs (even the reputable Mack brand) kept falling out and irritated my ear canal (I have ear eczema) leading to an ear infection, so I was on the lookout for better alternatives. These don’t fall out, don’t irritate my ears, and they’re reusable! I wipe with isopropyl alcohol, rinse with water, and air dry. They are slightly uncomfortable sleeping on my side but more comfortable than foam earplugs. They come in two of multiple sizes, so you have a spare if you lose a pair. XS fit me perfectly, and I gave the larger sizes and extra case to a friend, so more than one person benefited from the one purchase. When I’m awake, I can still hear people talking and birds chirping, but if I’m already asleep, then I stay asleep until my alarm goes off or I wake up naturally which was the goal! These would also be good if you are bothered/distracted by busy noise at work but still need to hear people talking to you. When these degrade or crack, I will try to remember to edit this review.
