After months of searching and eyeing this coffee table I finally bought it and could not be happier! This is a very solid table and I love the dark brown color as it pairs perfectly with a different set of end tables I bought. The tobacco brown is just the shade of brown I was looking for and the overall finish is truly beautiful. The wood, while soft for sure, seems to be very good quality. I love that it has drawers to store things as well. The instructions were easy to follow and while assembly did take quite a while, it was well worth it. I assembled it myself and from start to finish (including carefully un-boxing and double checking everything was there) it took me about 1 1/2 hours to assemble. I made sure to take my time and be extra careful and while somewhat tedious (this kind of thing always is) it was well worth it. Overall I am relatively pleased with the look and feel of the coffee table. Delivery was quick even over the holidays. Assembly had a couple small challenges but it came together without too much effort in the end. The top comes with two support crossbars already affixed and screwed down. One of them was stripped, split and loose. Since it didn't seem necessary to the overall structure of the table, I just glued it down with wood glue and moved on. The wood and finish, however, are soft and scratch VERY easily. A swipe with a toy or a dish will leave a noticeable gouge. I have had the table three weeks, and have kept a cloth on top of it, and still need to repair scratches already. This coffee table is superior to others I've owned that were assemble yourself! It was so easy to put together and I did it all myself in about an hour... senior disabled person! All of the instructions were very clear and the pictures were accurate. Each piece was labeled front so there was no chance of putting it together wrong. The cams came with plastic sleeves on them so you didn't hurt your fingers screwing them in, and the locks went on with ease and tightened perfectly. This table is sturdy and durable. The wood was solid pine as described on the Amazon page, and the gray wash is just enough to make the piece interesting and rustic. The knobs that came with it were described as antique brass, which they were almost pewter colored which I much preferred to brass. They even made the bottom accessible so that you can even change or tighten the back decorative knobs if you need or want to. I like that they designed the back to mimic the front, since that is seen by the people sitting on the couch... great example of what attention to detail is included in the design of this table. The shelf in the middle is only about 4 inches so you can't really use it for much other than magazine of book storage, but that too is ok with me as I have a great many HGTV magazines! The drawers are very wide, but only about 4 inches deep, so I think they are great for storing remotes, but I'm not sure how else you would use them unless you stored dvd's or cd's laying down. All in all this is the best piece of DIY furniture I have ever owned, and intend to buy the matching pieces as I can afford them. I got this on sale for $174, and to me it's the best bargain on Amazon I've purchased so far, and I've been shopping here since 2000. The customer service is TERRIBLE!!! I received this table with two missing pieces. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone in customer service. There is never an agent available and I have been forced to leave several messages. They called me back once when I was unavailable. I’ve sent emails and I got a response that they want more information like the warning label on the box. This is a waste of time. The table is nice (not beautiful) but I will never but this brand again. Ever. Read more
