Simrad NSX Smart Chartplotter Fish Finder with C-MAP Discover X Charts

I had an older Simrad that worked just fine. Handed that one down and upgraded with the newest version (NSX3009). Love the Simrad products. Ease of use, screen visibility and customer service is excellent. One big improvement that I have noticed is that the interface is much easier to use and much more intuitive. Can't imagine going with another brand. Looking forward to purchasing a larger boat and then equipping it with a larger Simrad unit!! Happy boating/fishing!! Read more

All the Simrad displays with the NEON software are trash. The only current Simrad products that use the far superior older software are the NSO line of displays, and those are said to be transitioning to NEON soon. The software is just plain junk. Hard to use, many former features not implemented. I am a marine installer and Simrad was doing fine up until their choice to develop a new “advanced” operating system. Common features found on their old devices as well as all the competing devices from other brands are missing with this software. The displays feel unresponsive and hard to navigate. Menus and layout are unintuitive to the max. Often you can’t find a standard option you are looking for BECAUSE IT DOESN’T EXIST! Please AVOID new Simrad gear until they get their act together. The chartplotter itself is nice enough, though the touch screen has a horrible delay. It does not, however, come with the reports CMAP Discover-X chart. Read more
