I was looking for a pair of plain black boots that had pretty diesel treads (aesthetically pleasing to me) and these fit the bill for that. Normally I look for combat boots and not work boots, but quality of combat boots has really dwindled these days…although additionally, I am (sadly) getting older and some types of shoes just don’t fit or feel as well as they used to so I decided to branch out in my search. I started looking at Skechers Work boots because I have a pair of Sneakers from their Work line that I absolutely love. They fit and feel great. Also have super awesome treads on the bottom. So I figured if the sneakers are so great, won’t hurt to try the boots. This was not poor logic. The boots are pretty nice so far. They are not 100% perfect, but what is these days? Part of that imperfection surely relates to me just not being used to “work boots” as they are a little bit higher/taller off the top of the foot than typical combat boots. Understood this is for safety reasons in a work boot, but that is still an adjustment for me. I do warn you about the size though—that’s my one star off. In most boots and shoes, I am a 6.5. Including the Sketchers Work Sneakers, which fit like a dream. The 6.5’s in these boots were gigantic…so big I was actually concerned the 6’s would not fit either. Thankfully, though, the 6s did fit. The other ones probably felt bigger because of that height off the top of the foot. But either way…the Work boots are definitely sized larger than the Work sneakers. Pros —comfortable sole —Nice Look —Solid treads/should be very stable in unstable places (slippery floors, snowy conditions) —Toe area is super solid and well made…for those looking for actual work protection, these seem up to the task —Fit will around the ankles, not rough or uncomfortable (I am in taller socks though; cannot comment on feel of the boot touching skin, I hate that lol) Cons —Runs large, even as compared to Sneakers in the same Skechers “Work” line —The soles squeak on the floor for a while. This is temporary once you shuffle around on concrete or something for a bit —Feel a bit heavy to walk around in, but this could just be something I’m not used to (again, combat boot vs work boot) Overall, I recommend these boots. The quality and craftsmanship seems really good for the price. And in an age where it seems like some brands are cutting corners—you bought one thing a few years ago and buy a duplicate of it now that is thinner, more cheaply made, less durable—Skechers seems to be staying true to their original mission. That is something I very much appreciate as it is super disappointing to buy a replacement pair of your favorite shoes only to find out the new ones feel like a knockoff. These boots are so comfortable. The arch support it great. True to size and the wide width is great for me. I’m on concrete floors the vast majority of day and since I’ve been wearing these boots, my feet and legs feel less fatigued. Can’t beat the price either. I definitely recommend these. Read more

After one week my feet hurts and yesterday I brought done extra padding and my feet still hurts. Sometimes these reviews are not accurate on comfortability for this price it shouldn’t feel like I’m walking on bare concrete very disappointing also my pinky toes hurts too.. Read more

I gave them 4 stars instead of 5, because I had to order these 3 times to find the right fit. Normally I am a size 10, consistently with Skechers. So I ordered a 10. They were SO big! I ordered a 9.5, thinking maybe that was a fluke, but even the 9.5 is big. The 9 fits me perfectly. These are listed as Women's, but the sizing fits like they are Men's, since I had to size down from a 10 to a 9. That's my experience anyway. They do appear to be well made. I don't expect steel toed boots to be comfy, but the toe area is a little snug on the sides of my feet. I think for they'll be fine for my temp jobs. Read more
