Nice entry level helmet goggle balacalava set

Misti SeppiNovember 22, 2025

The MXJ Gear dxh-816 Ski Helmet Set by VCOROS and MXJ Gear stood out because of its all-in-one bundle and ASTM F2040 safety listing, and after testing it for real-world fit and comfort, here’s what I found: it’s a strong value set with comfortable components, good helmet–goggle pairing, and a few limitations typical of entry-level helmets. I ordered it because the listing offered a full ski package—helmet, goggles, and balaclava—at a budget-friendly price, and I wanted to see how well the set performed together. The Large size fits as expected, and the dial-adjust system makes it easy to fine-tune fit. The helmet has a clean design, a removable liner, and ear pads that attach securely and integrate nicely with the chin strap. The goggles pair impressively well with the helmet, with almost no goggle gap and a secure strap retainer on the back. The strap’s internal rubber helps keep the goggles from shifting, and the darker lenses offer clear visibility without distortion. Cons surfaced mainly in ventilation and accessories. The helmet includes only one front vent and no adjustable vents, which limits airflow compared with mid-range models. It does not include MIPS (a rotational-impact mitigation system found on higher-tier helmets). The goggles’ strap length is adequate when worn around the head, but when positioned around the helmet, even at maximum extension it pushed my nose slightly upward and wasn’t as comfortable for extended sessions. The set also lacks storage bags or a protective case; only thin shipping bags were included. The balaclava feels premium, stretchy, and comfortable, but the material is unknown due to the lack of a tag. Compared with similar bundles in the $65–$100 range, this set performs well on comfort, helmet–goggle integration, and overall build quality. It trails higher-priced helmets on ventilation options, interchangeable lenses, and advanced safety systems. For adults who want an affordable, comfortable starter setup for skiing, snowboarding, or sledding, this is a solid choice. It may not be ideal for buyers who want MIPS-level protection, multiple vents, or customizable lens options. Balaclava includes eye glasses holes for comfort. Read more
