I recently had a terrible ear infection, but after it cleared, I was still in pain. I went to the doctor and was advised I have Arthralgia of the left temporomandibular joint (TMJ) due to grinding/clenching my teeth. It is very painful. The doctor advised me to get a mouth guard for when I sleep. I have tried them before because I know I grind my teeth or clench without realizing, but all the others I tried were painful, uncomfortable, or hard to mold. So, I was a little weary of trying another, but these! They are so easy to mold, fit very comfortably, and have helped ease my pain! I am so happy with this purchase! Now, if I can find something to help me stop clinching my teeth when I am awake! LOL! They really are great and I am sleeping better. I will definitely recommend them and buy them again when needed! I use mouth guards on a regular basis because I clench my teeth. This has caused damage and that is why I now use mouth guards. I wanted to try this brand since it had good reviews ( and was pink) but here in lies the rub with this product. If you already have damage such as broke/cracked teeth or crowns this could make things worse for you. The material is harder than you average mouth guard. It was easy to fit with the instructions and was comfortable to wear while sleeping but in the morning I couldn’t easily remove it. It had become so tight during the night that it wouldn’t come off. Not a big deal if all your teeth are natural but for those of us with crowns and some cracks from clenching this was a HUGE issue. It was so hard to remove it actually moved a crown slightly and I was fearful it would cause cracked teeth to completely break. In the end this mouth guard will cost me money at the dentist, not save me from having to go to the dentist. Read more
The product gives you two. I molded both to my teeth easily, but the length makes it uncomfortable in the back of my mouth. So, I tried to cut one of them. (This was a bit of a mess). It fits much better, but it didnt sit right, so I had to remold it. I ended up biting down on the edges, and now its barely stays in. I understand that this is a user error. The second one is doing much better. Just wish I didnt ruin the first one. Unfortunately, I found out that I sometimes sleep with my mouth parted because of this product, and droll gets everywhere. Its a little thick for my liking, but I dont think the company can go any thinner without me grinding and ruining it. My partner says it helps with my grinding, but it disrupts my sleep due to droll being cold and wet (resulting in me waking up) or the thickness of this bulky product in my mouth. Overall, it is pretty good quality. It does what it is supposed to do. Its just not for me. I also wish there was something to help me clean them because they smelled, and even brushing them didnt work. Read more
So far so good. I've had this nightguard about 4 weeks now. I am a 5'5 woman with a small mouth and forming this to my teeth was easy if you follow directions exactly. It covers all my teeth, even molars in the back. But there is a lot of extra material so I had to trim the sides, a mouth guard should not touch your gums or it can irritate them. Adjusting to the guard was strange at first because I wasn't used to sleeping with something in my mouth, so I salivated a lot. Three weeks later and it's much better. Clean it regularly and brush it every day. I do notice less pain overall and my jaw doesn't get tired or sore when I'm chewing like it used to. My jaw does not pop, but I do feel like my nasal passage has somehow opened up and I can breathe better. Weird I didn't expect that. I will probably get a guard from my dentist once I save enough money saved but this is a good product for in between. Read more
Love this product! Coming from a dental assistant who meant to get one from my last office and forgot. So, I thought I would try a boil and bite method in a cute color! I was a little skeptical reading the review but I think its user error. In the office when we fit mouthguards, we go to the coffee maker and get STEAMING water out, not a rolling boil. Also, mouth size depends on many factors factors. I'm tall (5’7) with a big head and this one fit me fine, I trimmed and burned the edges with a lighter to put less material on the pallette and reduce gagging (that's why it looks darker in the back). However, if you're much taller or have a wider arch than me you might want to use a different product with a larger arch. Also like reviews said make sure you have seen your dentist recently and ask a professional questions about any restorations you have, but I never felt right quoting patients hundreds when the materials cost a fraction. There is a lot of science behind jaw movement and cavities, so if you haven't seen a dentist in awhile, a check up might be good and ask them questions (to make sure nothing comes out). The material did bend to fit my wider arch but I don't see it realistically bending more. For the price its definitely worth a try if you're interested! I will be buying again if my dog gets ahold of it. Read more
It’s thin but large in general, I found it really uncomfortable and ended up buying a different one. It says you can trim it with scissors but I tried that and it’s hard to do and ended up uneven and jagged. I would recommend it. Read more
Best night guard BY FAR! II’ve been using night guards for six years, and I’ve always bought them from Walmart. However, this time, I decided to try something on Amazon. This night guard is incredibly comfortable and fits perfectly in my mouth without feeling bulky or taking up too much space. The instructions for setting the mold were very clear, and I’ve never had a night guard fit my mouth or my teeth as well as this one. It stayed in place all night, and I’m thoroughly impressed.
