The idea behind the produce is that it increases the interior surface area...so stuff freezes quickly. That is why you have to squish it around. To make sure the liquid gets into contact with as much of the surface as possible. It is not going to make a whole lot though. It won't be like the slurpy machine at 7-11. But it will be very cold and it will taste very similar. If you use carbonated stuff, be aware that this process will strip the carbonation (even after it melts). Pros: This is very simple to use, the concept isn't hard to follow and the instructions on and included in the box are just as easy. While you don't make tons like shown in some advertisement photos with just one cup, you get a good amount of slushy and one good freeze for the recommended time can usually get you two servings out of it! (Work smarter; you can use a cool or room temperature towel to hold it with and put up an extra barrier from your natural body heat to the cup to prolong the freeze.) Cons: Parts break easily. There's no getting around that the bottom ring of the lid broke the second time I used it -- which honestly scared me because? I just bought it and CRACKfall???!? -- but it wasn't really an important piece to the overall use of the slushy cup. Also, after using it for months, I'm starting to notice it's not quite freezing up like usual on the second go around. It's not a huge con, because I get one good serving of slushy goodness and a second dose of near slushy goodness, but it is a bit of a let down that it's starting to show small signs of wear. I bought this about almost a year ago and the cup still is in great condition and works perfectly! The only thing to keep in mind is if you have a potent liquid in it and dont clean it out immediately after use, it might stain the inside. But over time itll come out. For cleaning it, i use the bottle brush that you can shove through and twist around and that works pretty well where i dont struggle at all. Read more

So I got this for a Christmas gift and it went over well! They loved it and was excited, been wanting one. There is so many fun colors and designs I had to actually debate on the designs. As to how it works I've not heard any complaints from the two I bought it for.
