After reading some "not so nice" reviews, I bought this anyways (mainly because it was the perfect size for what I needed). Functionality is above what I expected, setting up a code and access is very easy. Overall I am beyond impressed. Storage capacity is a huge plus with the removable shelf and is excellent value for the money. Would definitely buy this brand again. Safety and security are high end, and have no complaints. Bought this to store some ammo, couple smaller fire arms, and important documents, and see keeping safe for many years. I would not expect this to hold up well in a fire since thinner metal and front plastics, but definitely worth mounting down/in and using to keep people out. If you look at the reviews for this safe, you'll see most people are highly satisfied but a small percentage are unhappy. I believe this may reflect issues in distribution. When I first received my safe, it didn't reflect what you see in the high ratings. However, the company was great to work with and sent me a replacement quickly and painlessly -- easily five star service. As for the safe, it's solid enough. At this price point, you can't expect thick hardened steel that weighs a ton. But even something like that can be defeated by destroying the floor/wall, taking the whole safe, and working on it elsewhere. Overall, a solid product and a good value supported by great service. The safe is fairly heavy, and feels very sturdy. Probably wouldn't survive an attack with a sledge hammer, but with it bolted to my cabinet, someone would have a very difficult time removing it, much less getting it open. You set your own pass code, from 3 to 8 digits. The 4 AA batteries are very easy to change, located on the inside of the door. A very nice safe. Read more

The digital entry and the key. backup is nice. It's not Fort Knox, but if you want to protect some cash or documents this is a nice small safe you can bolt down. It'll keep the people who are dabbling with the idea of being a thief on the straight and narrow. A dedicated criminal type of course will get through this, but it will take time to remove it and that will be something they don't have if robbing your house or apartment.
