This Small Rig field monitor mount is well made and feels very solid. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I found tilting the top was stiff, but this might be an advantage when using a field monitor as the larger ones in particular could be heavy especially with batteries mounted on the monitor. Having said that if trying to adjust on the fly, might not be so quick and easy. I haven't used it yet, I have a smaller field monitor, but wanted to get off this initial review. Small, very solid and light. Once mounted it has no wiggling it feels very sturdy. I'm using mine with a SmallRig cage and Viltrox DC-550 monitor. The only issue and it's a minor one, the bouncy locating pin, for my monitor is on the wrong side. If you use the locating pin in the correct spot, the knob that locks down the swivel covers the HDMI port. You can't plug in the cable. the pin has to be located on the other side but it retracts. I tried to swap the sides for the knob but I don't think it's possible. Read more
I love how this thing is built like a tank. It is very easy to set-up. The mount is easy to install and remove, the size is small, the fit is perfect. Once you set it up it is very stable. My only grip is the swivel action of this monitor holder as I need a hex screw to tighten it back up again after adjusting. Sometimes I can not bring tools with me and it is hassle.
