I don’t tend to be overly picky when it comes to loose-leaf tea steepers. As long as the steeper holds enough tea for a generous mug and does its job reasonably well, I’m usually happy. With that in mind, this set turned out to be a great value for the price. The fact that it comes with three steepers is particularly convenient—my partner and I drink tea together often, and it’s nice not to have to wait for one to finish before making another cup. Being able to prepare multiple mugs at once has made our tea sessions much more enjoyable and efficient. That said, the quality does reflect the low cost. The moving parts feel somewhat flimsy and a bit loose, as though they might come apart with heavy use. Because of that, the closures aren’t as tight as I’d prefer, and small tea leaves sometimes manage to escape through the gaps into our mugs. It’s not a major issue for me personally, since I usually pour my tea through a small filter afterward, but I know that extra step won’t appeal to everyone.
