The screw has a long leader on it to make sure you can use you fingers to insert....plus it then aligns the hole for the threads... My Costa sunglasses with the metal frame are the sunglasses I use when I go fishing. Living along the Florida Gulf Coast and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, saltwater corrosion is inevitable. So naturally the screws corroded into the frame. Thankfully I was able to remove the screws but couldn't find any replacement screw anywhere. Found these after a google search and bought them. Used some Tef Gel for corrosion resistance and put the new screws in. Saved my favorite pair of sunglasses. Read more
