I have used Snark tuners for years and because of their affordability I had no problem lending/giving the one on my guitar to another musician who needed one. If you have never used this type of tuner, it allows you to tune in noisy environments by reading the vibrations from the headstock of the guitar. The ST-2 is a nicer version (a couple steps up from the base model) and is quicker to tune, can be set for different tunings, can be set to work with its' built-in mike or (better) from the vibrations of the instrument. Because of the nature of its' clamp, this chromatic tuner can be placed on the tubing of brass instruments, the headstock on a guitar/stringed instrument, or the bell of a woodwind instrument. It can also be set to work with its built-in microphone and attached to your music stand (perhaps for use by a vocalist). The neck/display is adjustable for almost any angle and the display is large and easy to read. The ST-2 also has an automatic shut-off feature that turns the unit off after 10 minutes to conserve batteries. My other unit doesn't have the shut-off, alternative tunings, or the microphone feature. The shut-off would have helped me since I sometimes leave it on and find it dead the next day. Comparatively, I also use the D'Addario which is quick to tune, super low profile, and has a button to adjust the orientation of the screen's readout. This allows the tuner to be placed almost anywhere on a headstock, even between tuning pegs. It only works on guitars. If you are a serious musician or just really enthusiastic this is a great piece of equipment for you and will help your music. Read more

I have used Snark tuners for many years. I keep this in my guitar case and use it regularly. I find the tuning is really tight, which creates the best sound. Would recommend. Read more

Very nice! Fast to turn on and off, looks great with a red guitar, and has a wide pitch calibration range. I needed to tune my guitar to 426Hz and my previous tuner only went down to 430Hz. How else are you going to play Pantera and Megadeth except for online tuners and a microphone? The only downside is that sometimes it takes longer to adjust to a note (like seconds) and I think that's because it's chromatic. It functions well, is easy to use, and it's a perfect size to fit on your headstock. It has like a matte red finish that looks good, too. Overall, happy with my purchase! *Update (8/29/25): 1 month until recharge with daily practice/tuning. Very happy. Read more

I have a Snark tuner I bought many years ago that's on it's last leg, which served me well through many gig a gig, but when I saw that this one is rechargeable and a decent price, too, I had to have it. I'm very pleased with it and with the color I chose. It still has the control that lets you tune through the mic or by clamping it on the instrument. It also has the pitch viewing and adjustment controls. However, the one thing my old one has that this one doesn't is the housing for the battery. Instead, it has a port with it's own USB cable to allow it to charge. I'll be more than happy if my new Snark tuner turns out to be the workhorse my old one did. Read more
