Butterfly solar fairy lights are beautiful to look at during the day especially swaying around in the breeze. The butterfly wings got a little scrunched up in the narrow box they arrived in, however, with gentle touch the wings smooth out and look lovely. At night the butterflies look like lights bobbing around, of course at close range it is more obvious there are butterflies attached to the lights. These particular light stems are more flexible and sway more than others. Also, the green light stem with leaves blend nicely with plants. We like the square solar panel and have the lights on solid light. They come on at sunset and stay on all night until sunrise. The lights are uplifting with the pretty butterfly colors and lights swaying. Great price for simple, colorful and uplifting butterflies. Seem fairly well made. We have similar solar fairy lights without the butterflies and they have performed well, we anticipate these will too. Note: this is in Hawaii with a lot of sun. Our experience with solar lights is that they do well in sunny climates or spring/summer in the NW when there is more sun. The solar lights do not stay on as long and are not nearly as bright in the fall/winter in the NW. Additionally, exterior lights may impact the solar panel function. If the solar lights do not come on at night when you have other lights on close by then simply test them, place your hand over the solar panel to see if the lights come on. You may have to turn off nearby lights so the solar lights come on or cover the solar panel so it thinks its dark out. Try a piece of paper attached to panel with light tape to cover solar panel. One of the butterflies came off the stem on a breezy day. We found the butterfly and reattached it to the light. Quite easy, there is a small piece on the butterfly that attaches to the bulb.
