Here in the South if you use plastic of any kind, it deteriorates badly. After only a few years in the sun, a clear plastic casing can turn hazy/yellowish (even headlights!). So I really only buy glass for light casings on path lights. Holds up far better. Not easy to find, though. These are well built. Not all plastic like so many on the market that are more expensive. I feel the price was just right for the number provided. They are indeed metal on the top part as well as the main post. Description says it’s stainless steel….doubtful. Products all say that…but there is no proof, and most merely *look* like stainless steel. Words are used as a marketing ploy by Chinese companies. These would be much more expensive if real stainless steel was used. I would say the top and post closely resemble aluminum. Time will tell how they hold up, but like other paths lights I have had for years, they still should be fine for a while. The stake is a durable plastic. These are lovely, and provide a really nice amount of light at night. The light element is far different than any other path light I have had. I have bought many over the span of ten years, and have many of all kinds throughout the yard. Instead of being some tiny little bulb underneath the top, beneath the solar panel, these have elongated bulbs. Far brighter than others I have used. I am using these along a garden bed surrounded by grass, so I have no idea how much they may or may not create a pattern on pavement. Read more

These were much smaller than I expected so the light is not as far reaching as the previous lights we were replacing. They look fine and set up was easy. They stay bright all night and do the job of lighting a pathway. I love that the covers are made of glass so quality is fine. Not sure on battery life yet but batteries are replaceable so that won't be a problem. I have purchased larger globed solar lights for the same price previously so this pricing was in the near ballpark. I think larger lights look better in a larger yard but for a small city lot, these would do the job. Seem to be of good quality. Read more

I have 3 sets of these now and am very pleased with nice soft white color and the long LED filament and higher capacity battery provides better brightness that lasts most the night on a good day charge. The pipes are sturdy powder coated stainless and the shades are glass. The tops have a nice size solar cell. For paths, I’ve doubled the light shown since the back yard picture was taken. Now recommend planning on 6’-8’ spacing. They have no On/Off switch so once u pull out the battery insulator tab to activate, they’re in working mode. Came very well packaged in styrofoam. Tho not necessary, if you need to move these around any, I’d recommend a very small drop or two of super glue on the spike end where it inserts into the metal pipe to help keep it attached if you need to pull it out of the ground… Read more

I was gettng ready to get some that I had purchased in the past as some of them went out and the plastic cracked from the sun. Then I came across this brand which is actually metal and not cheap plastic. The price of them was actually a little cheaper even and I really wanted this style bulb as they are nice and bright. It ieven has a glass lens which the other was plastic and had yellowed in 2 years. So I am very pleased with this purchase and now hopefully they last for a while as the good materials I do expect it. Read more
