Snake head shape design? Looks mor like an inverted golf club, a driver. In fact, it could be decorated like that instead of its unadorned appearance. There's nothing wrong with unadorned, though. This is the sturdiest shaft of my solar lights. While the stake is short, it won't be stuck in the ground when you try to move it. Instead of two pipes that slip together, these two pipes have a connector that joins them. The switch can go to bright, less bright, and off. There's not much difference between bright and less bright. I've been wondering why you bother with a switch at all, until my wife said that we should remove the lights for Halloween. No, we can just turn them off. It is an odd shape that I would use in a few instances, such as: - drawing attention to a low step or a crack in a walkway - illuminating a small sculpture, such as a frog or gnome Read more

I've been working on illuminating both my front and backyard and these solar lights are a nice set to light up the bottom of the stairs on the side of my house. I like being able to select between two different shades of light, a warm shade and a daylight shade. The best part about these solar lights is that they have different heights that you can choose from. Most of these types of solar lights only have one height you can use. They seem well built and should be just fine out in the weather for years to come. The only two downsides about these lights are that they aren't quite as bright as others I have tried and they are a little more expensive than some of the other brighter ones. Read more

These are your basic outdoor solar pathway lights. A bit larger compared to most you see available. Per unit cost is high (14/each at time of purchase) and it's not obvious what that extra cost is getting you other than a larger plastic shell, and maybe a higher capacity battery (750mAh compared to average 600mAh). My package was missing one of the connector pieces. So, instead of about 25 inches tall, mine will be about 15. Read more

I've been using these for 3 months now and we love them. And now that it's dark at 5:00 they are even more important! These lights even look good during the day when they are off. The rounded design fits in with any landscape and it's good they are black so people don't trip on them. The solar panel area is large enough to collect a sufficient charge for the night. They stay light for a few hours. You can set warm or cool lighting with an easy-to-press big button which is great for different seasons or moods. We have kids in our yard quite a bit and when little kids ages 4-7 bump into the lights they hold up well. Nothing breaks and the kids seem to be able to relocate them by themselves. Read more

I like that these pathway lights are taller than the others on the side of the house. The unique arch design of these solar lawn lights allows them to 'stand out' from many traditional solar lights. Product appears to be sturdy which means if properly inserted into ground, the lights should remain intact. Box contains all components for a flawless install. There are several connecting parts included, allowing product to measure two different heights. It only took two minutes tops to assemble product. Adding these two lights to a dimly lit side of my house adds a new meaning to 'high (tall) visibility." Although product has two lighting modes, the brighter mode does not compare to some of my other solar lights. After a full day of sunlight, it'll soon be determined if lights remain illuminated more than eight hours during the next nightfall. Read more

I really like these solar lights. Their size and housing design seem perfect to me. The lens design and button operation are good also. You can press to select cool white or warm white light spectrum, and the setting is remembered day after day. I like the warm white. These lights also surpassed my expectations as far as the quality of the fit and finish. They do come in a smaller shipping box, and you assemble each light out of a couple of plastic tubes, some couplers, and a dirt spike. The finished assembly is very solid and fit/finish turns out well. Even the light collector on the top has a quality appearance. I did think the light output was somewhat dimmer than I anticipated. But after running them a few nights, I think it is more than adequate, and when it gets really dark, they light up my garden well. Read more

I expect that I was just lucky to have pressed the power button to the "on" setting before putting them outside to charge, because the power button is not a toggle, you can't tell what setting (on, off, white light, yellow light) you selected until they're charge and you can then cycle through them. But, you have to select the "on" position in order for them to charge, so it's a sort of catch-22 situation. Other than the weird button situation, they are pretty nice. They give you options for 2 heights, they go into the ground easily and seem to stay there, even through a thunderstorm. The light is bright enough that 2 of them light up the walkway. It's nice to have these when coming home after dark. Well made and well thought out. Read more
