Work of Art
Received a day ago, unpacked immediately and hung in the garden outside bedroom windows, late afternoon. The "on" button is a bit confusing. It will move up and down but there are no +- marks. So I just pushed it forward which fortunately worked. The moon globe began to glow a few hours later, after dark. (Don't forget to remove film over solar panel.) I'm caring for a sick friend so up all night and both of us have enjoyed this lovely piece. I'm surprised that it needed so few hours of indirect afternoon sun to glow literally all night. It just went off at dawn. And the chimes are melodious, not just a cacophony of clanking metal. The crescent moon filigree is intricate, elegant and remarkably sturdy for such a lightweight. I've only owned it for less than 24 hours so can't speak to it's durability. But so far I love it! It has already given my friend a much needed sense of peace and calm. That alone is worth the price. Update: I've owned this about a week and the solar light doesn't glow for more than 30 minutes at night. I've charged it for a much as 36 hours continuously with full sun, incandescent and LED lights but can't get more than about half an hour of light. I'm going to try to contact the manufacturer for help in resolving the problem. Will update accordingly. 2nd Update 10/21/2022. Started a return but Amazon wanted $7.99 to return it. Doesn't glow but still pretty. Not worth the price but I guess I'll keep it due to cost of return. Would not buy again. 3rd Update 03/08/2023 Receiving much more sun now that Spring has arrived in my area. The photoelectric is powering up and it's glowing for many hours during the night, often until dawn. Don't mind admitting I was wrong and I'm purchasing another. And it's on sale!!! Whoo hoo!!!
