I liked the 1st one and it lasted a long time. I think 5 years? I had to order another as the toothbrush stopped working. The base was still working. I am not sure what happened for it to stop working, if it was the normal end of life for it or if water damaged it getting inside? Not sure. But, I like it, so I bought another! I recommend it! This Sonic-FX replaces a previous Sonic-FX that quit recharging which was a replacement for one that that broke. There might have been one before that, but I've lost track and do not remember for sure. Each one does seem to have been an improvement over the previous unit. Read more

Extremely disappointed. Below is my original 5 star review. However, this new toothbrush is pretty much now just a normal, non-sonic toothbrush and it hasn’t even been a year. I bought this Nov 25, 2022 and at the time of writing it is July 6, 2023. About a month ago the toothbrush stopped turning on when I pressed the on button, but the light would turn on. I found if I hit the bottom against the counter it would turn on. Annoying, but at least it works. Well the past week and a half the brushing power has just absolutely dropped (in addition to now needing struck on the counter every 30 sec interval). It’s barely vibrating now even with a full charge. I expect it won’t do be doing anything in the next week or so. Very dissatisfied, considering my previous SonicFX lasted me literally years. I won’t be buying a SonicFX brand toothbrush again after this experience. I would expect it to last at least a year, and it couldn’t even do that. —original review— As my old SonicFX has reached the end of its life, I told myself I needed to get a new toothbrush around Black Friday. I did quite a bit of googling, I didn’t want to break the bank but was ok spending a little more to get something new. Oral B and Philips Sonicare made a lot of lists… but reading reviews, I wasn’t impressed. (Big turn offs were Oral B’s are loud and Philips break easily.) SO, I decided to stick with what I’m familiar with. Left is my old reliable, who after (at least) 6 years of daily use can no longer hold a charge for more than a day. It did it’s job well. I just brushed my teeth with the new one. Amazing how non-worn out buttons feel, almost no resistance! And as you can see, I really wore out that brush head. New toothbrush feels and does great. I have had the Sonic-FX toothbrush system for several years. Unfortunately, I tried to change the toothbrush head and the internal "guts" pulled out on my original toothbrush. So...I had to replace it and did so with this single toothbrush kit. Too bad Sonic-FX does not offer just the replacement toothbrush. Like the cleaning power of these toothbrushes and the charge lasts quite a while. Read more
