I mounted this inside an wall outlet to monitor power usage of a PC. Initially, it would not automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi after a grid power failure. It is a great improvement over the R2, which itself is great and I have a dozen or so of. Back in Nov 2020 I sent itead a feature request to use the ESP32 so that OTA upgrades could be done(check), make it a bit smaller to work in their IP66 waterproof box(check), and add the ability to access more of the GPIO pins on the ESP32 (sadly, no check mark here). Although the case has a bit of glue on the 4 tabs holding it together, it can still be hacked by opening, soldering leads to the TX/RX/GND/3V3 pins and pressing the button when powering up. Great device I use it to control the curtains at home; 1- To open/close as needed 2- Close all curtains when I go out in one button 3- Timers; like to open bedrooms curtains (partially) with the alarm. Also close them in the evening I didn't need to call the support nor did I use it with Alexa (so far) so I can't rate it The only improvement I would like to see if they can reduce the "thickness" of the device as in Jordan (where I used them) the electric boxes are smaller and it is hard t place them inside (I had to add depth or install the device by the curtain motor (in the over windows boxes), but this should not be an issue in USA/Canada and Europe Read more
