Sony Blu-ray Player BDPS2500 with Built-in WiFi

Bought this for a gift for a family member. Only bummed because they had these for $45 at Wally World over Christmas - still a great bargain! Getting rid of my Xbox and the membership fees now. I was only using it to watch Netflix and Amazon. This does the same and the wireless streams great here. I bought 2 of these for 2 friends for Christmas in 2015. Both players failed during firmware updates. The updates actually killed both players. Really sad. They worked fine before the updates with no problems. Why send updates to kill a perfectly good player? Almost as if was done purposely. Read more

Third refurbished unit I purchased. First two quit working within a year. I guess we get what we pay for. Its a crap shoot. This unit was purchased with an extended warranty unlike my first two purchases, I recommend you get an extended warranty. They don't cost much and give you a bit of protection. Lucky the re-furb Blu-ray players are inexpensive. Just wish I would have gotten more use out of them. Read more

Worked great for a year. Now it doesn't work at all. Barely used it and now it is stuck on the booting screen. Tried everything to reset it but the device doesn't respond to pressing buttons on the device itself or the remote. I ended up taking the thing apart and can't seem to find any obvious clues as to why it just stopped working. Customer Support just tells me to go on their website. And there's no help there.
