Cute and quality fabric

As others have shared, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this skirt. It is 40% linen and it has a nice weight to it that holds its shape without being hot or scratchy. The pockets are a great touch and same fabric as the skirt. I chose the petite length as I have short legs and wanted it to be more of a midi length. The regular would definitely have been closer to a maxi, unless you are tall. Fits TTS in the waist. Read more

Great skirt, weird orangey red color

I just got the skirt today and tried it on. I usually order a medium so got this skirt in "Medium Average" and fit is good. It falls to my ankles, waist is snug but not tight (I'm 5'6" and usually wear size 8 pants). The fabric is more substantial than I thought it would be and drapes nicely. The waistband is comfortable. Only problem: I ordered this skirt in "Wine Red" hoping for a nice dark red. The picture online looks kind of cherry red to me, which would have been fine. Burgundy would have been fine too. But the fabric has an odd orange undertone kind of halfway between brick red and rose red. It doesn't suit my skin tone or match anything in my wardrobe but I'm keeping it because I like the skirt so much. Maybe I'll dye it a darker red. I will update if I go the dye route or have a problem after a couple of wash and wears. If this skirt ever becomes available in a dark forest green I'll definitely buy again! Update: I attempted to dye the skirt using "Wine Red" Rit dye. After 55 min in the dye bath, and then 20 min with dye fixative, the color did not change AT ALL. I used the same process to successfully dye a linen dress last year. I strongly suspect this fabric is polyester despite the linen/cotton tag that's sewn into the skirt. The fabric never wrinkles and is not breathable when worn on a hot muggy day. It's a great skirt but I suspect it is NOT made of linen. Read more

Good for the money

Living History enthusiast here. I went to a several-day-long event last month and just wanted a few extra skirts for my daughter. Didn't have time to make extra, and couldn't find any decent red fabric anyway. So I saw this for twenty bucks and decided to take a chance. I was surprised at the quality, actually. I mean, it's not super high quality, no, but for what I paid for it, it's sturdy, well-made, not see through, a lovely color, and fits well. And it has pockets, even! Bias-cut so it has a lovely drape. I don't know if it's linen...I suspect not...but it's a nice linen-look, and fits in with what I needed. I liked it so much I ordered the longer one for myself. Be aware that the "Olive green" is not green, but brown. It's not green even a little bit. I don't care, but if you do, be aware of that. The red, on the other hand, is a deep, blood red. It's nice enough to wear around in real life, not just as part of a kit. EDIT: Wore mine on a 100 degree day and now I am convinced it's linen, or at least a nice linen blend. Skirt breathed great, and I was pretty comfortable in it. Read more

May need to size down to avoid bulk.

This skirt is very beautiful and priced appropriately. I had to return the large. I am a USA 10-12: 37 bust, 32 waist, 42 hip 5'5" 160+/- lbs. Lately I have been wearing size large misses clothes and size 12 skirts to avoid clinging to my fuller low hip area. This skirt is a lot of fabric with fuller ankle skirt. I am keeping the size medium because it looks more balanced. The large waistband was looser but felt almost as if it would slip down due to the fullness of the skirt and the pleats were overpowering me. The medium fit like a glove and worked well with stature, while still being full and modest. I will be ordering more for sure. Hopefully khaki will be available soon for this beautiful summer weather. The pockets and flowing flare is perfect for summer activities here at the beach where I live. I like long skirts but it gets really hot in summer, so this linen blend flowing skirt is a good option to keep cool and covered. Happy customer. Thanks for offering prime returns and affordable prices. Also makes a good housework skirt with pockets and stretchy comfort. Read more

Great for a renaissance faire, but...

Pros: Good basic quality with straight, neat stitching and construction. Pockets are deep enough for a phone and placed at a comfortable height in the side seam. The color was as advertised, if slightly lighter than how it appeared on my screen. I love that it is a cotton-linen blend with no synthetics added. I ordered the small petite because I'm just under 5'4" and another review mentioned that it ran a bit long - I would agree with that as the petite fit me in the length like the model pictured. Regular length would have been too long on me. Cons: Overall, I would be happy with this if I was dressing for a renaissance faire or similar event (in which case maybe the longer regular length would be best...). HOWEVER, I was hoping for something nice-casual as a modern-day skirt option. It does not drape in as flowy a way as pictured in the promo photos. It is a very full circle skirt and there is a slight stiffness to the fabric, like trying to wear a fresh-from-JoAnne's-bolt of cotton fabric and it didn't look flattering on me. It's possible that the fabric would soften and drape better with time, but the sheer volume of fabric basically guarantees that my smaller (but curvy) frame would look overwhelmed by the shape regardless. I ultimately decided to return it because it does not fit my needs. So if you're looking for a shortcut on your next "medieval peasant" costume, this is a fantastic quality piece. If you're wanting something that can fit the modern silhouette however, you may want to keep looking. Read more
