Bought these boots for overseas trip in wet conditions. Ordered normal size 8.5M - fit true to size. Comfortable, with good cushion right out of the box. Wore in rain and no leaks. Waterproofing works - in addition sprayed with Scotchgard to aid in cleaning. Room for insole to aid with arch support. Good tread for those slippery conditions. Great color combination - Tobacco/Black. Note - the leather material will scratch/scuff but those mars will rub out with a little brushing. This will be a great versatile boot with jeans and leggings to dress up or down depending on the occasion. Excellent boot for the price from well-known brand - Sorel. I usually wear a 6.5 - 7, and purchased in a 7 to be on the safe side. The 7 fit well, but were a bit narrow for me, even with a thin sock. Walking in them was comfortable, but they haven't stretched at all in the width, which being leather I figured they would. I decided to keep them (being they are waterproof and look nice) and take them to a shoe repair nearby for stretching. Read more

I recently saw a video from Samantha Brown (host of several travel shows) and she suggested getting a pair of waterproof Chelsea boots with good tread for travel, and I mean, Sam knows her stuff. The kind she recommended aren't available anymore, so I began my search to find something similar. The goal is to have one pair of boots you can wear with casual outfits, yet dress them up a bit in the evening if necessary. Less to pack. Waterproof ensures your feet will stay dry if it's raining or snowing. Good tread will eliminate slips, as well as help you to walk on uneven surfaces, if necessary (think cobblestone streets in Europe). I found these Sorel Chelsea boots just in time before vacation and I'm so glad I did! They are so comfortable! No break in time needed. They have nice arch support, which I need, and great tread. Typically I am a 7.5M in all my shoes, but I sized up half a size based on reviews. If I was going to wear very thin socks, I could have stayed with my ususal 7.5. However, I'm glad I went up half a size because I can wear a thicker sock and they fit just as they should. The toe box has plenty of room, which is important to me for comfort. I find them easy to put on and pull off with no issue (there is no zipper). I've only worn them with jeans and pants so far, but they'd be so cute with a dress as well. The media could not be loaded. I ordered these boots just over a month ago and have worn them 4 or 5 times. I really like the way they look. My normal size of 6.5 fit me well. They were a little tight over my high instep, but they stretched to fit quickly. There is minimal arch support. I deducted stars because the sides of the heels are already peeling. I got them wet twice, not by walking through puddles, but from light rain, though they are supposed to be waterproof, so they shouldn’t be peeling, especially after just a few days of wear. Otherwise, I like the style of them and the comfort. I never felt like I was going to slip in them. Read more
