After the folks at Soundbot saw my original review [posted below], they added a comment about how I should reach out to them via email with my order information and copy my review. So I did! And guess what? I received a quick email response letting me know that I would be receiving a new SoundBot® SB510 HD Water Resistant Bluetooth 3.0 Shower Speaker, Handsfree Portable Speakerphone with Built-in Mic, 6hrs of playtime, Control Buttons and Dedicated Suction Cup for Showers, Bathroom, Pool, Boat, Car, Beach, & Outdoor Use - Black at no extra charge. Ok, I'll check it out. #BAM! A few days later, there it was. Arrived safe and sound through the U.S. Post and included 2 charge cords. Nice!! I tried to charge it up straight away, however the charge wasn't staying on for more than a second or two. "Oh no," I thought, "not again!" But then I wondered if they had specially tested this replacement unit and had it fully charged for my immediate enjoyment. BOOM! They did! Ha ha ha. I stuck this thing up in our shower once again and linked to it instantly. The music was loud and I was happy, yet still cautious for the first few days... How long was the battery charge going to last this time? OVER A MONTH! What?! Yeah, you heard it right. The awesome little speaker kept rocking out the shower tunes for over a month before it finally turned itself off. No way!! I plugged in one of the chargers and let it sit overnight. That was a few weeks ago. So far, after a single charge, it looks like it's going to go for yet another month. This thing is brilliant! Sure, it wasn't ideal that I needed a replacement, but the way SoundBot handled this was extraordinary. I had to update my review from 1 star to 5. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! AWESOME!!! *************************** My Original Review: *************************** THE GOOD: Like many 1-star reviewers have stated: at first I was able to charge the SoundBot SB510 easily, as well as pair it via Bluetooth to my Android Galaxy S5 phone. The sound is excellent in the shower, it stays stuck to the walls pretty easily, and overall not bad for the price. THE BAD: The main problem is that you have to re-charge this little guy every time you want to use it. The charge only lasts for 1 shower (tested up to 20 minutes) and then it needs a full re-charge again. This morning, I discovered that even if you fully charge the SoundBot and then attempt to use it a few days after that charge, forget it. it's dead and needs a fresh new charge again. FINAL CONCLUSION: From the generous number of positive reviews, mixed in with a heaping side of negative reviews, it appears the consistency of this product is the main issue. For some people, this product will work as expected. For others, it's a painful waste of time. If you are a gambler, take a shot and hope for the best, but if you want something a little more reliable, I would suggest spending some extra cash for something more reliable. Read more

Bought this for use in, shocker, the shower. I read a lot of the reviews first and I found them to be very helpful. I have to agree with others. The manual such as it is, is largely useless. But the comments from the reviewers were all that I needed. I have remembered to power it off every time when I am getting out. So far the very first charge has held up for several weeks of 20-30 minute showers. So the battery life IF YOU REMEMBER to turn it all the way off is actually really good. The sound quality is just fine. Honestly there is enough noise from the water flow in the shower that anything small amount of loss in quality is fully masked. The volume gets more than loud enough. As others have mentioned there is a control on the speaker itself. So I have gotten in the habit of turning up the volume on the source device completely and then controlling the actual volume level from the speaker itself. This works very well. When both the player is at max and the speaker is as well it is honestly too loud. Which is really nice. So much better to be able to turn it down to what you want then to be annoyed that you can't turn it up far enough. I have it mounted on the side wall of the shower, so it gets some splash effect but no direct water. As I said after several weeks of constant use it works great. Some reviewers here and elsewhere were annoyed by the non micro-USB charge cable. I took a good look at it when it came and the reason seems to be clear to me. The rubber "cap" that seals that off so that water can't get fits down in to the circular hole for the charging cable. I like the extra security that would likely come from that. The charge cable just plugs into one of my USB charging bricks and all is well. Personally given the fact that I only had to charge it once in several weeks, I have not found it annoying at all. There has been a few things I would love to see added to this. The only one worth mentioning is that the controls are very rudimentary when watching a movie. It has a next and previous button that jump to other movies/shows. I would love a button press (single or combination) that performed fast-forward and rewind within the same playing show. If it had that it would be truly awesome. So if anyone else has discovered one do let me know. I would say this speaker is not the best speaker, but it is still a very decent product. It's extremely easy to pair to a phone, and once you figure out how to adjust the volume on the speaker itself can get very loud. I am going to give this review a simple pros/cons so you can decide for yourself if it fits you. Pros) 1) First pro I can give is once you stick it to the wall, it isn't going anywhere. I've had i suctioned to my wall for 3 months now without it falling or anything. 2) It can get really loud, once you figure out how to actually adjust the volume, which is holding the right arrow until it beeps to signify max volume 3) I don't use it an extreme amount, but the battery hasn't needed to be charged in the 3 months I've had since the initial charge. Cons) 1) It uses a proprietary charging cable which is USB, so if you lose this cable, you may be in trouble finding one to charge your device with. I believe that it should had used the compliance of a micro usb cable like most devices use. 2) It has virtually no bass, so if you listen to a lot of electronic music like me it can very flat. This is a basic device, and honestly its still a good bang for your buck, so I do highly recommend this over some of the more higher prices devices.
