I had another heater like this one I bought from Amazon. It was a different brand. After using the other one for only a year, it did not seem like it was putting out much heat. So I searched for a new one on Amazon. After reading reviews, I bought this wonderful little heat machine. I use it to heat my insulated garage and I have a thermometer. Before I start this heater, it is normally 25°F in the garage. In an hour or less, it has the entire garage at 50°F when the outside temp is at 10°F. It makes it even warmer when the outside temps are higher. It works better than my old heater, even when that one was new! I also have a "Heat Dish". This little heater does better than that too! Immediately out of the box you can tell this thing was built solid. The body is not simple ceramic or plastic like most other small portable heaters. I'm not 100% sure the exact material but it feels like steel with the addition of a flame retardant as it doesn't get too hot to adjust while in use. As far as performance the general heat output is noticeably more effective in comparison to other similar sized heaters I've used. I have a 12x20 basement room that gets very cold during Wisconsin winters. This little guy not only warms my entire room it actually gets toasty to the point I have to turn it down or off. I also never realized how useful a swivel action would be on a small heater as you can adjust the height of your airflow from the ground without having to find a desk or chair to prop it on. The only negative I can really think to say about this product is that it doesn't have an auto-shutoff feature like many others do for when the heater gets tipped. However, the extra beefiness of this unit would make it impossible to be tipped on it's own, and otherwise very unlikely to be tipped by someone without being noticed, so I don't find the feature necessary here. FIRE HAZARD two prong electric plug WITHOUT ground... electric cord GETS HOT on high setting. NO TIP OVER SAFETY SHUT OFF SWITCH ! Function labels nearly impossible to read without a flashlight. Chose this heater after some research. It works perfectly and warmed up the bedroom in about a half hour. It has a lot of power for a small heater. Definitely recommend. The only con of getting this heater is that there’s not a timer on it so if you go to bed with it on, you will wake up in a really hot room. I end up turning it off at night and back on in the morning. Read more
