I bought these for my 83 year old mother. She fell in the basement wearing worn out "moccasin" style slippers that were all stretched out. Very scary (for me more than her, apparently)! ** Good fit -- Mens size nine pretty close to womens eight, with some room left over for fluffy socks. ** Well made, but feel light -- Arch support, moderately stiff leather, and extra stitching on sides provide excellent stability when she's going up and down basement stairs. Doesn't feel her foot sliding laterally. ** Look nice -- Quality leather and sleek design. Look more like casual shoes than fuzzy slippers. Mom says she wouldn't be embarrassed going out to the mailbox in these (She grew up a farm girl, and wouldn't like foo-foo lady shoes anyway). ** Decent price -- Comfort and stability were worth the few bucks extra for these shoes. Can't believe how comfortable this house slip-on slippers are! Nice and roomy toe box, significant arch support, and heel cup is very supportive. It looks very nice to boot. Foot bed is very well designed as my feet feels nice. I had to return a some other slipper as it did not offer any support, not structured, lousy foot bed. It was down to Orthofeet and this brand. It's nice and warm but doesn't make you toes sweat! Can't vouch for the long term wear as I got it week ago. If I were to recommend a product improvement, it will be slightly lower height in the heel cup area to make easier getting in hands free. Also add high density open cell foam for cushioning. I've written several times in reviews that the 2 things you never "skimp" on is SHOES and sunglasses. Your feet and eyes deserve and need the best quality of products! The feet are so important to the entire body. After several years of convincing my husband of this fact, I've finally gotten him to spend the bucks for pure quality, which is exactly what these slippers are. They are much more than a slipper though, the sole is very strong and durable. He wears them outside to get the trash, the mail, etc. They are so attractive. They hardly look like a "slipper". He has worn them everyday since we've received them. We have hardwood floors throughout the home, so walking/standing without shoes really bothers his back. So now, instead of keeping his shoes on til bedtime, he puts these on the minute he walks in the door. He said the arch support is amazing and they are so comfortable. They have a lining of a soft like fur, which the first few days he wore them, would be on his socks/feet after wearing them. But that is subsiding the more he wears them. These slippers were a gift, and they were much appreciated. They are well padded and provide good support. The color brown is a nice soft, flattering color. The person I gifted these to has Diabetes, and needed a supportive slipper that is comfortable. There is a deep cupping on the heel for support. The orthotic arch support is one of the most important features to this person. And at the tip of the foot is a dome which helps to alleviate foot pressure. In fact these are so comfortable this person does not want to take these slippers off. The fit is excellent, and all areas of a slipper for support and comfort are covered. These are incredibly expensive for slippers with good arch support. And they do have good and lasting arch support, but for the price, you would expect them to be better made. The stitching began to come apart a month after I purchased them. And by year one, they were almost unwearable. This was not with anything other than indoor wear, and only now and again, so I was hardly abusing them. But at the price, I could have bought several pairs of less expensive slippers and some quite fancy orthotic inserts to go in them. Given that they finally fell completely apart before the two year mark, I may go that route the next time. They were really quite comfortable, and I did enjoy them, but I think their price is not reflective of the quality one would expect. Read more
