Enthusiastic “Two Thumbs Up” is the initial rating I’m giving the Spider Tool Holster. I will report back if it doesn’t hold up to wear & tear while working. Let’s get the one knock out of the way, the enclosed adhesive just isn’t strong enough. I had to JB Weld it to my drill to make it stay on. But in all honesty I was pretty sure I’d end up having to do that so it wasn’t a surprise. With it properly bonded to my drill, it’s the best bit holder out there, bar none. And I’ve tried a bunch, probably in the double digits at this point. I use 1/2”, 7/16”, 3/8” & 5/16” in a constant rotation and this holder allows me to rapidly swap out those “nut driver tips” when I’m on the move doing my work. Sure beats fumbling through my pockets or any other number of inefficient ways of trying to keep track them while I’m working. Again, the only knock would be for the adhesive which is easily remedied with some epoxy. Also, the durability remains to be seen, but if lasts 12 months or more I would consider it worth it for how much time it saves me while working. Enthusiastic “Two Thumbs Up” on my purchasing scale. ***Update*** Ok, here I am 13 months or so later and I’m surprised to report that the “Spider” is still alive and working quite well. I had my doubts that the rubber material that the bit holder is made of, would hold up to daily use at my work, but it has passed with flying colors at that. I’ve got the bit holder mounted to a Dewalt drill that’s been out in the elements of the Pacific NW and its endured all the rain, sun and temperature variations that nature could throw at it and it’s still performing as advertised. I really didn’t think it would take the daily wear and tear along with the elements and be able to last more than a few months. Well, it’s been over a year now, and it has no visible defects, it’s not separating from the drill chassis nor is it tearing, either one of those scenarios I felt was sure to happen, but no, tuff little piece of kit here folks. It would appear that the materials these folks selected to make the bit holder out of was the right choice, along with the adhesive. My initial 4 star review has been amended to a full 5 star review. Worth the money, a definite buy. If you need something like this, pull the trigger and purchase this one. I’ve tried multiple brands and styles of but holders and this one wins easily! Ryobi Drill and Impact Driver - Great product Just wish the tubes were about a half an inch longer. Mounts without any problem on the impact driver's surface but there is a trick to mounting it on the drill driver. (See Pics) There aren't many level surfaces to mount on the drill driver. So the trick is to remove the drill driver model number sticker using a heat gun. (I placed my sticker down by the LED light instead) and mount it securely in place of the sticker. I tried mounting initially on top of the sticker but doesn't last very long. Another good trick is to use the heat gun to slightly heat up the surface of the drill driver side before applying. Okay, Here is my review. Ordered them based upon the product description and "ease" of application to hold those pesky bits that you have to fish around for when you need them. Product is as described and pliable. Here is the catch though, and something I did not find in the product description. The "3M" tape adhesion covers (The red patch over the sticky) are EXTREMELY adhered to the sticky part. I fiddled with it for about 3 minutes, trying to peel back the protective layer. (Frustration set in and as usual, my thoughts turned to other means of adhering them to my drills) It dawned on me that an application of direct heat might release the protective layer and allow me to stick them to my drills. I recommend a HAIR DRYER on high heat and not a HEAT GUN, with heat applied to the red seal (protective layer) for a few minutes, maybe less, and the protective seal will, with effort, concentration and determination, peel away to reveal the glue adhesive. (You will need to clean oil, dirt and debris from whatever electric driven tool you are applying these to before starting the heat release procedure) Once the red seal comes free you should then immediately apply these holders to the location on your hand tool and PRESS FIRMLY and EVENLY to avoid air pockets. I will see how long they will actually remain adhered to the tools as I am a casual user of the hand tools. I would have given more stars had there been mounting instructions explaining what I just explained to you, they are pliable enough to push bits and such into them and hold them securely. Do not feel obtrusive and do not seem to cause any issues with handling and operation in the position I placed them in, you may need to, and I highly suggest, you pre fit them before adhering to insure they do not get in the way of your hands. they are a bit pricey for what you are getting, but if they help you keep bits conveniently closer than the work bench, tool box or having to go buy more because you cannot find the one you need, then it was worth the cost.
