Let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. I bought this for me to learn how to do pull ups and improve my grip strength but my brother were interested in it as well. My brothers are on the bigger side --between 250 to 325 pounds, and they've been able to do pull-ups and hang on it until they're arms give out, basically anything you can do with a bolted/ pull up bar, without any issues. It looks really slick. Fits right under the door frame, which is super convenient, but if you're tall like my brothers, be prepared to get cozy with the ceiling when you get up. It's a small trade-off considering how solidly built and affordable this thing is. The quality is outstanding. Its sturdy as heck, even when my brothers are really going at it to test it before hanging on it (who wouldn't) it didn't budge at all. Installation was a breeze after I picked the instructions out of the trash like I always do. No tools or expertise to get it up securely. Honestly, for the price, this pull-up bar feels like a steal. Perfect for anyone who needs something reliable for home workouts, especially if you've got bigger folks in the mix. Read more

Very sturdy, easy to install. Be sure the frame is strong because this is a heavy duty piece of equipment. Read more

LOVE this pull-up bar and so wish I would’ve bought it YEARS ago! I have chronic neck pain that radiates through my shoulders, upper arms, and upper back. Raising my arms straight up or out hurts me so much. Or even bending my elbow, positioning my arm at 90° to change a lightbulb or something. PAIN! Being able to hang and loosen up the muscles in my back and arms brings instant relief. Anyone who bends their head forward/hunches their back forward for too long will also feel so much relief just dead hanging a few seconds throughout the day. Great instructions, super easy to install, super sturdy, and just a pleasure to use. Great buy! Read more

I wish it was easier to get it to cling and move about. I like to use different heights for different calisthenic exercises, and it works great for those positions. It's wide enough that it fits an opening that has no door stop or trim, and the sides are load bearing and structural, so I'm not afraid of breaking something. But it does make the frame groan a bit if I tighten it too much. It can take my weight and even me standing on it and jumping a bit. So far, I expect it to hold up well and I trust it. I also expect to have to clean the frame every now and then to keep it smooth as well as the surface of the grip, all to keep the friction up. It hasn't left any marks yet and I've not managed to get it to fail without loosening it. While it takes some time to adjust to different heights, it's easier to use, can travel with me and definitely stores easier than a pull up stand. Read more

This is very well made, and has a 1 year warranty. Installing it made me a little nervous, because there obviously is a lot of force on the doorframe, and there was a fear of the wood cracking. My walls are concrete, so the wood in the doorway couldn't give much. You may see some separation of the wood in the door frame when fully tightening the bar, but just do it slowly. MAKE SURE you have a very sturdy doorframe before attempting to install this. The bar has levels on either side, which is very convenient, as it can be a pain making sure it's perfectly level. To install, you twist each side, which slowly expands the bar, then when it's flush, you then use the main bar to finish tightening. The bar will absolutely not fall, or come out of place, if tightened properly. When you are twisting the bar, go until it does not twist any more. I have read reviews of removing the bar can cause it to break, this does not seem accurate. I had no problems loosening the bar, and removing it. There will be marks on the wood, which is to be expected, since all that is holding it up is the pressure on either side from expanding the bar. Highly recommend, but before buying, measure the width of the doorway, just to be sure it will fit. The bar has a nice foam grip, which makes use far more comfortable. Read more

Great product, but definitely pay attention to how your home is built. I live in an old but renovated apartment in NYC, and after inspecting for cracks and what not, I figured I was good to go seeing as my door frames seemed solid. The issue is, when I went to install the bar I continued tightening until it could go no further, and this was starting to damage my wooden doorframe. I could see it physically bending the wood, which is a shame because I was excited to use the product. But for anyone in an old building that was renovated, keep in mind that they may have put non-solid layers over solid foundations, making this product unusable. Everything about the product, great. My apartment, not so much. Read more

I was looking for a pull up bar for my son’s room so he could work out in between sports and training classes. Other free-standing bars all seem so big and bulky, take up too much floor space, and are pricey. And most other door-mounted pull up bars have to be screwed in. I wanted something that would be easy to install and that would not leave any damage. This bar has been so great. My son hangs on it every time he goes in and out of his room and does pull ups here and there throughout the day. The door still opens and closes normally and no floor space is taken up. He and my other children (age 8 through almost 13) use it and it’s held up well. It doesn’t slip at all even though it’s not screwed into the door frame, and it looks nice and low profile so works even with 8-ft ceilings. Such a great value for the price and we’ve gotten even more use out of it than expected. Read more
