Someone finally told me that Spy Optics is the brand name of my sunglasses that I have had and loved for 20 years (no name or markings on the inside of the frame, only the crosses on the side pieces -- I tried for several years to buy an additional pair when I broke my backup pair of these glasses, but I did not know the brand name and the store where I purchased them had closed). When someone commented we had the same taste in sunglasses and could tell me the brand, I went to the Spy Optics website and immediately placed my order, which was delivered promptly. This Piper model is terrific, the wrap around feature and polarized lenses duplicates what I valued in my original pairs of sunglasses, these are smaller lenses and lighter in weight and I am thrilled to have them. I was not sure about the gray color lenses, since I originally had very dark black lenses, but they seem to work really well for me even driving into the setting sun. If you peep the specs you will see these glasses have all the armor you need to battle the Sol's might. Also they look so damn cool. They have that extreme sports/military operator look to them, which I love. So if that's your bag, you'll dig these. Also, while wearing these the view is so clear and crisp. I love wearing them while driving. My road vision feels enhanced. So overall I think these shades are superb. A great buy and definitely an upgrade compared to the ones I was previously wearing. These SPY sunglasses, with Amber lenses and wrapped frames are really nice to wear and look great! The lenses are amber (brown) and dark enough to shade my very light sensitive blue eyes. I’n addition they are polarized to aid in my almost daily fishing expeditions here in Santa Cruz. While it was great to get my glasses free from Mark and Brian Simo, in the old working days, the Spy Brand quality was always noted and the style always current. Very good sunglasses for the price, and although they are now Bolle owned, they are still of excellent quality, fit perfectly and are very comfortable in the hot sun over the water all day. Additionally, the cost is fair for the quality, especially if you factor in thee ridiculous tariffs now applied to all east Asia produced products.
