Perfect Knife for Everyday Carry
I've been carrying the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 for a little while now, and I have to say that it's quickly becoming my favorite EDC knife. It's super lightweight and so small that it fits perfectly in the coin pocket of my jeans (see attached photo). The blade came razor sharp right out of the box and has held its edge well. One thing I really appreciate is the quality of the design and construction. The handle texture strikes a good balance: tactile enough to give me a secure grip but not so rough that it's uncomfortable to use, even for an extended period of time. The bright, almost neon orange color looks cool and makes it easy to spot if I ever drop or misplace it. Unfolding the knife is smooth and effortless with the signature Spyderco thumb hole, and the lockup is solid without any blade play. I've used it for everything from opening boxes to cutting through some tougher materials, and it's performed flawlessly every time. It's definitely not the blade I'd choose for batoning through firewood, but that's just not the sort of task for which it's designed. It's a bit pricey, but Spyderco is known for making quality blades and I certainly feel like I got what I paid for. I could see the small size being a downside for folks with hands on the larger end of the spectrum. Mine are mid-sized, so that's not an issue for me, but others might want to carry something larger (assuming it's legal to do so in their area). Overall, I don't think I could be much happier with my purchase. The Dragonfly 2 is about as close to a perfect EDC knife as I can imagine. Whether you're a knife enthusiast or just need a reliable tool for everyday use, I highly recommend giving this little guy a try! Read more
