Stanley Adventure Even-Heat Camp Pro Cookset

Purchased this set to upgrade an older camping kitchen. It wasn't my first choice for new cookware but the previous reviews sold me on it and I figured for the price I could just test it out and then part ways if it doesn't hold up. Well, Used it for a week while camping (6/17-6/21/19) and was very impressed. So size: it's a small set, but the pot is great! we made a multitude of chili/soups/pasta w/sauce and steamed veggies. It heats up quick and evenly and cleaned super easy with mild soap and warm water every time. The lid acts as a strainer and could use a bit more drain holes but other than that it held up just fine. The handles however did get hot while on our Coleman Stove but workable. The skillet is very tiny so we brought a larger one and used the one with the set for reheating smaller portions for our 3 yr old. The plates are not designed for adults but work great for a toddler. We used the bowls just about exclusively, those are a great addition to the set. We didn't use the trivet/drain rack or cutting board and just left those home. The sporks worked well. The part of the set that blew me away was the spoon and spatula specifically since they break apart for storing. Those items are very sturdy and held up real well. I was expecting something cheap but again, surprised by the well they held up after a weeks worth of use. I love this cookset and all of my friends who I've camped with have loved it too. I can't say enough good things because the quality is exceptional and the functionality is perfect! Everything packs back into the pot which is perhaps my favorite thing. This cookset isn't light weight but it isn't meant to be. I'm a tent camper who camps solo and with others and I always bring it with. To this day the only piece of gear I love more is my Big Agnes sleeping pad. I'd buy it again but it's such good quality I know I'll never have to unless it's a gift for a fellow camper. Read more

Stanley makes excellent and well designed products. This pot is durable and well constructed. The locking mechanism of the handle/lockdown lid is simple, strong, and quite effective and I appreciate how simple it is to use without any worry of it accidentally slipping. The included utensils and bowls are also well designed to fit together, be lightweight without sacrificing quality and functionality. The whole collection is quite durable, and functional. This pan is awesome. It's built like an actual fry pan with 3 layers of metal (stainless steel/aluminum/stainless steel) on the bottom of the pan to help evenly distribute heat across the entire cooking surface and it actually works pretty well. I mean this is no All-Clad level of frying pan BUT in the camp cookware world this is the best your going to get. Even from pricier brands. Every single camp fry pan that I have seen are all made out of one thin sheet of metal. This is bad because when cooking that thin metal will not distribute heat evenly causing you to burn one area of your food while the other might be cooked properly or under cooked. This imo is the only camp fry out there worth what you pay for it. If this was made by MSR you'd be paying a whole a lot more for this level of quality. Now certain things WILL stick to it like scrambled eggs. If you are FRYING an egg and you don't want it to stick you need to use butter. When you put the butter in the pan wait for the butter to melt. While it's in it's "melted phase" you will see the butter bubbling. Wait for this bubbling to stop. That bubbling is water boiling off from the butter. Once the bubbling has stopped there is no more water in the butter THEN you can put your cracked in the pan and it should not stick or at least not stick as bad. This works in full size pans too. You may need to season this skillet to help prevent sticking. I know it's stainless steel and you don't need to season stainless or what ever but you can get little bit of a seasoning on this skillet. It will help with the sticking. Read more

bought this for our family of 4 emergency grab and go packs and is perfect for it - and it is so awesome it has become my go to daily cookware - the pot is a fairly heavy stainless steel and should last a lifetime of use, super quality as is most stanley products - the skillet is incredible, very heavy bottom for even heating but not so heavy as to be easily packable in our emergency gear - bowls and plates are good quality plastic and heavy enough to last a long time with care - the plates fit perfectly on bowls to act as a cover for leftovers - some say paltes are too small but they are perfectly sized to fit in the pot, they work quite well - sporks are best design i have ever used, if you like sporks any way - the drying rack also acts as a good insulator to keep hot pots off of tabletop - the big spoon and spatula fit together very securely but i am guessing over time they will loosen up but probably not enough to come apart in use - love the addition of a little cutting board and for camping picnincing use its serves very well overall this is a perfect set sized for a family of four, very compact and light for its use (not a backpacking weight) - i highly recommend it not just for camping but everyday use (an inexpensive complete set of cookware for 4) and store all in the pot for space saving Read more

The best pan I have ever bought! I always use this outdoors and sometimes at home. The handle can be removed easily and the pan could even be used in an oven for baking. Very solid and durable. Comes with a lid cover which works great when the pan has cooled down so that you can cover left over food in the pan to protect it from insect and other critters. Read more
