Star Tech is a brand I'm starting to notice and appreciate. USB 2.0 is rarely the way to go these days but I am using this for SDR receivers and I've read USB 3.0 can cause interference for those. For anything involving data transfer I would obviously want a USB 3.0 unit. No shortcomings, works great. Read more
This is a standard basic 4-port externally powerable USB hub. Comes with a 5V 2A power converter, almost enough to handle a power-hungry USB 2 device (max 500mA) per port (but no headroom, and it also has to power the hub chip itself, so I'd limit power hungry devices to 3). Works well enough in limited testing so far. Nothing I have plugged into it failed to work so far. Really lightweight; don't expect it to sit still with cables pulling on it unless you mount it on the surface. Read more
This powered hub is exactly what I needed for my Wii U, which limits to 2.0 speeds. I use it for an official GameCube adapter with both USBs, a LAN adapter, and a Skylanders portal. After testing, they all work flawlessly. I would have asked for 2 additional things from this product. For one, the power adapter feels too fragile. I worry I’m going to break the hub by plugging it in. The other thing I would have liked is an on/off switch. Since it is continuously powered, the LED on the portal never turns off (where it usually does when the console turns off) so I’m worried it’ll die sooner. Despite these flaws, it’s still a great device and I am willing to make it work. Read more

I needed to connect and power a small audio recorder via mini-USB2, and to a multitrack mixer recorder with the original USB2 "B" and I needed to plug into it with a USB2-B at the end of a 25 foot long USB cable with built in repeater to get across studio. This is exactly what I needed and works fine Read more
I have a pretty complicated HOTAS flight rig, which includes the X55 Rhino Throttle, notorious for the ghost button presses when power is not enough or there is a interference from other devices. Well, with this USB hub all these issues are gone now. Everything works extremely stable with 3 devices connected: throttle, flight stick and head tracker. Read more
I bought it in May 2025, and it died in January of 2026. Less than a year for this piece of trash. If reliable is important to you, do not buy this junk. Read more
This USB Hub does the job and works just perfectly! I really thought the item was going to be bigger, but it's a cute tiny little thing that's light weight and suits what I needed this for. However, the box/envelope it came in did take a beating from the way it was packaged and it had a weird odor to it almost like gum mixed with something else and just did not look very nice. Despite that, the product came intact and is a trusted established brand. If you need a USB Hub that will last this is the one to get! Read more
