Must buy for dual monitor Mac setup, dual hdmi USB-C docks didn't work (Aukey/Anker)
Pros - Plug and play - Multiple display over HDMI worked perfectly with my MacBook pro - RJ45 port (ethernet port) supports GbE (1000BASE-T) - long thunderbolt 3 chord - excellent metal build, very sturdy Cons - no pass through charging through USB-C PD - a bit pricy (but worth it) Overall this is a great buy. I tried most USB-C hubs from Anker and Aukey but none of them worked with Mac for multiple monitors. Apple officially supports multiple HDMI output over thunderbolt 3 thus this worked flawlessly. Product stopped working after 6 months.
Product worked fine for five months then abruptly stopped working in the sixth month. Tested it on multiple laptops and the device wouldn't work. Amazon refused to accept a return or do anything about it. Trying the manufacturer now to see if they will replace it, but I'd advise staying away from this product. Read more
Good port replicator
Excellent port hub for M5 MBP. I would had liked if the cable was a few inches longer so it fits better under a riser stand, under the IKEA STENERIK stand, it hangs a little short. Read more
Works perfectly for what I needed with dual monitors for working remotely.
So far so good. Have laptop and using 2 - 24 in monitors. Worked right away. With no issues using 2 hdmi cords that came with monitors. Read more

Perfect for my XPS
I am a preconstruction manager at a large multi-family developer in Dallas/Ft. Worth & use multiple screens & programs at a time… I was looking for a dock that had DisplayPort outs for my monitors & would work with my Dell XPS that has only USB-C / Lightning connections… This works perfectly… I do have to keep my charger on my laptop (it doesn’t pass through charge), like the Dell dock I have at my office… But, that’s not a problem for me…. For the money & my connection needs; this fit everything perfectly… Read more
USB Fail
I'm usually a fan of StarTech products, but this one has a very disappointing design choice: the USB2 and USB3 ports are not dynamic. You have to remove the dock from the PC, attach your USB device to the dock, then reattach the dock to your PC. To be fair, the manual makes this clear, but whoever approved this design failed to the USB specs or consider how USB devices are expected to behave. Product support is stellar - I worked with a tech who did his best to help me and wasted no time getting me a replacement for my first unit. Unfortunately, the replacement behaved exactly the same as the first one. Read more
