I saw something like this in a store but it sounded cheap. Decided to try this based on reviews and I'm glad I did. This one has lovely, clear tones and good sustain. When I gave it to my granddaughter, we were actually able to make some lovely music! I ended up buying a second one for a friend's son and it sounded just as good as the first one. A 2-yr old can make this sing, but keep an eye on them. You wouldn't want them running while holding the wooden sticks, and if the small mallet heads were to come off, they might present a choking hazard. We haven't had a problem with that--they seem sturdy enough--but again, I'd keep an eye on younger kids. (I'd definitely recommend these for any kids 3-4 yrs old or older.) Read more
