Step 2 all the way! We originally tried another water table that was off brand and it was short, unstable and flimsy. This table is so well made, so sturdy, my 1 year old can pull himself up and hold on to the edge without it falling over , and even before water goes in. Love the design, all my kids have enjoyed playing with the included toys and adding others. it was delivered missing some toys and missing the screws to assemble the table. I ordered It before Easter as a gift it was very frustrating to find out the night before Easter it was missing so many things. amazon delivered a replacement one a couple weeks later and all the peaces were there. Regardless of the frustration the water table is so fun! And my 1 year old LOVES it! Once we got it together it was very nice thick plastic and the toys that come with it are very fun and good quality! For extra fun I bought a small water pump and added it to the top!
