An excellent green tea from the master of tea making!
This tea and Stephen Smith's Portland Black Breakfast tea are my two go-to's from his extensive collection. Both are very "basic" teas, except as made by the master, they are anything but basic. This definitely tastes of a green tea, but I find it to be much more pleasant on the palate than most green teas, and, much like his other teas, I find that they always yield more flavor if you choose to use more water. Unlike most teas which give up all of their flavor to the first 6 ounces of water that come along, these teas will still provide a delicate but distinctive wonderful flavor well beyond that first pour of water. When you are given one tea bag and a small pot of hot water, this is the tea bag you want to have! Your palate may vary, but I would strongly encourage you to explore Stephen Smith's extensive collection - there is a reason he is known as the master of tea making, and this "simple" green tea is further proof of the quality of ingredients and his extensive experience in creating teas.
