This gives you a good shave for a cheaper price than a cartridge razor. You need about a month or so to learn how to straight razor shave without cutting yourself, but if you've just started, but this is the perfect razor to learn how. Unlike a full straight razor, the blades included only extend out form the holder enough to get the job done, so there's no chance of you giving yourself a deep gouge while you're learning the techniques. I can't believe how long I've been going with just package shavers up until now. The moment this was delivered to my house I decided to do a full clean shave, thick beard mustache and all and it cleared everything like a hot knife through butter. No snags, no rips, and spectacular blades. Just before the shave I tested it on my knuckle hairs and it one shot them, no second passing. It's so easy to put together, and just as easy to clean them. I have absolute faith that even this one blade I put will last me for a very long time as long as I keep the rust off.
