It's genuinely versatile and looks appropriate for all sorts of occasions. The V-neck is flattering without being too low-cut, and the short sleeves are perfect for warm weather. The dress is fully lined, so you don't have to worry about it being see-through, which is always a concern with lighter-colored eyelet fabrics. The reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is the care instructions. It arrived pretty wrinkled from the vacuum packaging (which is normal), but you have to be careful when washing it because the eyelet lace can snag. I highly recommend using a laundry bag, and honestly, hand washing is probably safer if you want to keep it looking pristine. It's also delicate enough that you need to be mindful of jewelry or bags with rough edges that could catch on the fabric. I really loved the vendor photos of this dress and the beautiful lace fabric, so I was excited to receive it. However, when I first pulled it out of the packaging, I wasn't sure what to think. My initial feeling was disappointment. I am 5'4, 119 pounds and sometimes it's hard to find dresses that don't overwhelm my frame. It looked like it had so much fabric and was so long that I was worried it was going to look frumpy and too modest. I also hadn't realized it had a slit right in the front at the collar- for some reason I thought it just had a bit of a cutout. So I didn't think I was going to like the dress on me and actually waited a week to try it on because I didn't want to be disappointed, lol. Well after trying it on, I'm pleased to report that I love it! It's absolutely beautiful. The slit in the front doesn't bother me at all. The dress is long and does have a lot of fabric but I didn't feel like it overwhelmed me or made me look like a frumpy old lady. I actually thought it elongated my figure and made me look slightly taller, especially when worn with beige wedges. It also isn't loose and frumpy- it has a nice fitted cut that makes it look more tailored. A big part of that is the elasticized waist which can expand to fit- but it isn't loose and doesn't just hang off of you if you're petite like me. I do think it looks better when I wear it with a padded bra to fill out the top a bit. I love the fabric itself- it's a beautiful high quality crochet lace. It has a substantial weight to it and the dress is lined, so it just feels nice. It's a nice dress to pack on vacation because the fabric doesn't really wrinkle easily so you can just throw it on and be comfortable and cute but also have something to dress up in for nights out at dinner. The detail in the lace easily makes this a go-to dress for a summer wedding, while also being something I would wear on a day when I simply want to feel a little extra. And let's be honest, ladies, we all have those days when a little boost on an ordinary day is just what we need. I've gotten many compliments on the style, fit, and color. A medium is my typical size at 5'5", 130 lbs, but I accidentally selected a small. However, I really like the tighter fit. I would say that overall it is true to size, as a little more room with a medium would have looked nice as well. I just appreciate how this size emphasizes the curves of my body. The color is accurately pictured, and pockets are always an added bonus. The fabric is comfortable, and the stitching looks to be very secure. I followed the washing instructions, but decided to let the dress air-dry as I felt this would preserve the form of the dress better. A great find! Read more
