Let there be light!

Husband installed and said they were easy to install. Nice that had the adjustable 4000,5000, or 6000k settings. Nice lighting. Read more

Bright Shop Replacement Lights

Very simple lights, but they sure put out some light. They put out more light than the 4 48" florescent tube lights they are replacing. I had them set on the 5000 level instead of the 4000 or 6000. It's a little warmer looking and provided a gracious plenty light. And they are easy to install assuming you already have the wiring in place. Read more

Bright, easy to install, and economical!

We bought 4 of these and love our new garage lights! They are lightweight, thin, and easy to handle. Much brighter than the 4 fluorescent fixtures that we replaced, and less expensive to operate too! Although we haven't yet used the feature that allows you to link multiple units together, I think its a great idea and I'm thinking of purchasing more of these just to do that! If I had to come up with suggested improvements, they would be these: 1. I wish there were additional mounting holes near the center - if the junction box's holes don't line up in the direction you want to fixture to go, you'll have to drill new holes in the fixture in order to rotate it - not a big deal, but it would be nicer if you didn't have to. 2. There are no punch-out holes in the center of the unit, and that's where you would most likely feed the wiring through. There is a hole, but its small and if you have multiple units tied together in-line, like I do, in total they'll be too wide for that hole, so I had to enlarge the hole with a drill. Not a problem, but still. 3. The ends of the fixture's wires have a rubber-like shrink wrap on them, I assume to protect them. But I saw that as both unnecessary and as being in the way when trying to trim the insulation off the tips. I'd rather the wires already be trimmed, bare, and ready to connect. Again, all those are minor quips - I am VERY happy with my new lights! Read more

So bright and amazing. Easy to install. Daisy chain cord too short tho.

These lights are awesome! Super bright and easy to install. Just wired them directly in to the original wiring going to the old fluorescent lights. Love how they daisy chain together. Will definitely be buying 4 more as I want two more in garage and in breezway. Well worth the money. The only bad thing is the daisy chain cord is too short! I had to buy multiple connectors so that I could use a longer 3ft cord so I could have them spaced further. I bought some things I didn't need in trying to do this. They need to sell longer length cords. Read more

Extremely bright -- great replacement for fluorescents

For many years, our garage had four double-tube fluorescent light fixtures. I got tired of replacing the bulbs and the ballasts. LED fixtures finally came down enough in price that I decided to get some. This four-pack by Sunco looked ideal, so I ordered it. The swap-out was straightforward: turn off the circuit breaker, disconnect the old light fixtures, and connect the new ones. The only difficult part was holding each fixture on the ceiling so I could mark the four screw holes in exactly the right places, attach the wires from the junction box, and permanently mount the fixture. Each fixture comes with two screws that you're supposed to use to attach it to the junction box, but 1) the screws were too small in diameter for my existing junction boxes, 2) I didn't have any other screws that were the correct diameter, 3) the spacing on the junction-box screw holes didn't quite match the spacing on the screw slots of the light fixture (off by about 1 mm), and 4) two of the junction boxes were turned 90 degrees in the wrong direction. With some finagling, I managed to get it done. The lights are fantastic -- I almost need to wear sunglasses when I go in the garage! :-) Read more

Cast off your old fluorescents, go toward the light.

For my five-car garage, I have purchased and installed no fewer than six Sunco 4packs of Wraparound 6000K LED Shop Lights. One 4pack of the 7", one 4pack of the 8.5", and four 4packs of the 11". All three sizes contain the same LED tubes inside: the 7" has two bulbs, the 11" has four, and the 8.5" has not three, like you might think, but two. How that gets you from the reported 6500 LM to 7200 LM, I don't know; more plastic lens to bounce the photons around? Anyway, I've got 24 boxes on the ceiling, with 80 tubes. A lot of light! Pros: All have worked, no returns necessary. I've had the first set in for two months, no problems. The 6000K color is a lovely bright white, just what I want for the garage. Cons: Wiring the first (in the series) is a bit of a pain. I had to tin-snip cut a notch to get the hard wire in. The 2nd-3rd-4th are easy, with the included little cords. My hard-wires coming in are sometimes vaguely visible through the plastic cover, looking a bit amateurish. Which, not coincidentally, I am. The difference to my old 8' fluorescents is, if not night vs day, then gloomy afternoon vs bright noontime. The fluorescents were an ugly yellow, didn't work well in the cold, made a buzzy noise, and the stupid bulbs are a hassle to dispose of. The LEDs are supposed to be less power, but I've put in so darn many, I may have actually pulled ahead. Worth it! One last nit: I could install yet two more boxes, but the 2pack is 5000K not 6000K. What's with that? Read more
