These thermometers appear to read more or less correctly. They're at least enough for me to make sure I keep my tanks in the right temperature range. Both read close to what other thermometers do but not exactly, so I'm not sure they're completely accurate, but they're close enough for me. They are NOT backlit and they're pretty small, so don't expect to be able to read them from across the room. They seem to be decent quality, cheaply made but what I would expect for such a low price. The thermometer is simple to use. Don't have to clamp it somewhere. I just have the end dangling down into the water. I don't have another thermometer that could verify accuracy, but I didn't need precision. I just needed to know if the tank was getting too hot. I have a 10 gallon aquarium that I use as quarantine for when I get new fish. Since the fish are to go into an outdoor fountain, the tank was outside. Didn't want to boil them to death! Once quarantine over, I now just use thermometer in the fountain. I hadn't had one before so now nice to have it. It is small enough to be out of the way. Easy enough to turn on and off. Read more

I really like the display and easy to read aspect of it. Instructions suggest turning off to lengthen battery abilities. Unfortunately- after I turned item on, it will not turn back off. Otherwise- great! Read more
