Incredible. Worth every penny.

I am so beyond happy with the SunJack 25W solar charger. My backpacking and camping days are long gone. I live in California, where the idea to deal with fires is to turn off the power. So how to get power for my cell phone and tablet? This was my answer. The first time I used it, it was a really hot, sunny day. Took about an hour to charge the battery pack. I have been able to fully charge my phone at least six times from the battery pack before having to charge the battery pack again. And, it charges my phone faster than when I plug it into an electrical outlet. I have an old, wrought iron, bird bath base, and I clipped the SunJack to it, using the included carabiner clips. Because the stand is round, it's really easy to turn the SunJack to follow the sun. But on a really sunny day, you won't need to have it out for long. It's fast. And I can see how easy it would be to use it if I were camping or backpacking. Great product! Read more

I love Sun Jack's products

I still have my original SunJack 25 watt solar charger from 2014 (had to get a new battery, but the charger still works). The only problem with the 2014 model is that I have used it so much that the fabric is falling apart. This new 25 watt charger has 1 less panel (3 rather than 4) and less fabric, making it lighter and less likely to be damaged by the sun. However, the fact that it's falling apart from sun damage tells you just how much I have used it. It's easy to use, and I like that I can charge my small devices either directly with the solar charger or later with the battery. Read more

Solar panel ok, battery packs are unreliable.

The vendor replaced one pack out of warranty, so 5 stars for customer service. (Averaging that 5 with the original rating I’ve upped it 3 stars) Battery packs have both failed. I bought this for a camping trip in the desert that ended up not happening last year (covid), so it was delayed a year. In the meantime, I did use the two power banks that came with this set. However one of them showed pretty quickly an intermittent failure: It would start charging, but turn itself off after a minute or two. I contacted the vendor, and they asked for a video of the failed behavior. This proved to be difficult, as it was super intermittent. Initially I convinced myself that the non-OEM cable we were using when it failed was the cause, as it looked like the problem went away. But then it did it again while my wife was in the hospital with our kid. (It happened twice at the hospital, but that was likely a coincidence). Due to the circumstances (focused on the purpose of the hospital visit) and not having a second device to record it, we still couldn't capture it. So I just stopped using that bank, and did use the other. This year the camping trip did happen, and the second power bank showed the same failure. Of course now it's out of warranty, so I'll just go buy another from one of the established brands. The net of this is that the solar panel is ok, but doesn't fold very tightly as it doesn't have hinges, but depends on the flexibility of the layered construction. I'm concerned that the conductors in the flexible "hinge" portions will break over time, but we'll see. I wouldn't recommend buying the kit that has the sunjack battery packs, as those are unreliable. Read more

Fantastic BUT.........

Great charger, works wonderful for everything I have EXCEPT the one thing I bought it for, my Apple Classic 80g iPods. Does not charge them, charges everything else, iPad 2, the Kindle Fire, iPhone 5, my droid phone. Works great with the Sunjack Camplight, as it should and the AAA/AA battery charger Too bad about the iPods though. I asked on the Sunjack Facebook page if they would work and was told yes but I guess they can be wrong occasionally. Will I buy another, sure, if the price is right and hopefully a fix is found for the iPod issue. Read more

Best backpackers, solar panel money can buy!

Man of constant sorrowJune 24, 2023✓ Verified purchase

I can’t find a single flaw with this purchase. I have nothing but good things to say about this solar panel. This is the best investment I have made it worked flawlessly and even though it’s under powered for MacBook Pro’s, it will charge your MacBook Pro 2019. I am seriously considering buying the larger more powerful version from the same company of this backpack or solar panel. That’s how well it works. You can’t go wrong. Read more

Great Customer Service

SunJack gets an A++ from me, not just for having an awesome product, but for responsive, smart service. They were great in answering questions when I had trouble with charging, which were all operator error on my part, not the product. We love using it on our own boat and even took it to the Caribbean on vacation. Once the battery packs are powered, they charge our phones, kindle, spotlight, bluetooth speaker...everything really quickly! Read more

As advertised a darn good thing.

Was a bit surprised at the weight of this product, heavier than I had anticipated. Took it out and let the sun do its thing, takes a while to get both batteries charged, but no one said solar charging happens quickly except maybe on the suns surface. I use this if I am at the beach or at a club either to charge the batteries or use one of them to power a device I may be using at the time. Total convenience if you don’t get stupid and try to use it in a manner not intended. I am trying to work it into my basic backpacking loadout for use in the bush. Anticipate many years of use with this. Read more
