Master Higgins is back and NOW IN 16 BIT!!!!

This is a great sidescroller game in which you throw weapons at your enemy and collect fruit. it is on a tropical island and has tropical style music (calypso style) The only bad thing about it is that it is not as fast as the 8-bit counterpart but still enjoyable. Gotta love the skateboard! It is sometimes difficult but enjoyable. I highly recommend this game 10/10 Read more

I dont like to write negative reviews but...

This was ONE OF THE WORST GAMES i've ever seen in my life next to Operation Europe and Populous. If your curious, thinking this looks like mario, well its not. Far from such Greatness as Donkey Kong or mario. i played this game for 20 mins the day i got it and aint touched it since. The Nes versions of Adventure island are alot better and more fun than this game. Buy them, But Please, unless you truly wish to own it for being an SNES version of the NES Classic, dont buy it. its nothing like it. It is an oversized half naked fat man that resembles nothing to the Classic Mr. Higgins. Your nowhere near as small as you used to be on the NES and your hathcets just dont throw like they used to. this game was definately made on a low budget and quickly produced for Quick Income. However, i consider it one of the Few SNES Flops. The only reason it truly sold was because people thought it was going to be like the original NES Version, only to find out when they got home teary eyed that ITS NOT. And it definately aint worth good ends neither. When you jump on the game He looks as though he's been busted by the police or going in to convulsions or something... Rather confusing exactly WHAT it looks like hes doing. The Graphics are good, but the controls are not smooth and Gets Repetitive extremely fast, Leadin to Boredom, and eventually getting trashed. THIS GAME IS OKAY BUT LET'S NOT OVER DO IT.

The review before this one really pumps this game up like it's Yoshi's Island or something. Yeah, it's cool and worth your while but let's think about some 5 stars games for SNES like Yoshi's Island, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Secret of Mana, Donkey Kong Country 1,2 & 3, Super Mario World, & Super Castlevavia. Is this game really on a 5 star level? No. I don't mean to downgrade a decent game. But some reviewers give away 5 star ratings like candy. When in fact it's just a run of the mill 2-D side scroller. Nothing special like the other titles I listed above. In fact Joe & Mac for SNES is simular but much better. Come on people be atleast a little picky. I take your reviews to advisement. Read more

A very awesome platformer -- but much too short!! :(

When I first purchased the Super NES back in 1992, this was one of the first platform games that I had my eyes on. I had already beaten Adventure Island 1 and 2 for the NES, so when I tried this one, I was extremely disappointed with how short and linear the entire game was. This is the ONLY downside about the game, and that is why I gave it 4 stars and not the 5 that it truly deserves. What I DO love about this game, however, is the awesome, catchy, bouncy, and euphoric musical soundtrack. I honestly can't get enough of it, and that is the main reason why I continue to play this game at least once a year. The graphics, enemies, and locales have also been updated quite well. It's just too bad that Hudson Soft didn't bother to create a CD soundtrack for the ENTIRE Adventure Island series (i.e. the NES, Super NES, and Game Boy) -- it's much too good to pass up. In the end, I still recommend Super Adventure Island to all gamers, but as I stated before, you might get much more "meat and potatoes" out of Adventure Island 1 through 3 for the NES. :) Read more
